Only get one month for me

  • Grabbed this - but was immediately reminded how annoying it can be when you also have local downloaded music.

In order to download new music from Apple Music (instead of streaming it), you have to enable Sync Library, which resulted in a few dozen albums on my phone being wiped (possibly due to them not being available on Apple Music?), and another couple of dozen had their album art either removed, or replaced with something completely unrelated.

    • It shouldn't wipe anything. What it does is matches music that exists in Apple Music and uploads stuff that doesn't. The matching process does have a habit of changing some metadata though.

      • Well the albums are still in my library list, but are all greyed out and can't be played or downloaded. Actually if I click on one to play, it says it can't be played until I enable Sync … I thought that's what I did which resulted in this?

Ehh.. I'll look into sometime, but definitely have already cancelled the subscription.

I do like getting Hi-res and Atmos stuff for no extra money though.

        • same thing happened to me - not sure where tp0 gets their info from

          • @BLAIL: I have been a user of this service since it was still called "iTunes Match". I'm very familiar with how it operates.

Any issues are likely a result of an interrupted or incomplete matching and upload process.

          • @BLAIL: it does prompt you if you want to keep your existing library when you sync.
