Some controversy emerged in 2010 when Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive Oil was identified as one of the olive oils mislabeled as extra virgin

In 2018, parent company agreed to pay a US$7 million settlement

    Cobram or no deal. 🙅‍♂️

It's at Coles 50% off until midnight

    • why cobram and not bertoli ?

      • Australian. Fresher oil.

Was actually looking at this as I saw I mised out on the Cobram Deal, but after quickly googling decided not to buy it afer seeing CHOICE gives them an F in ethics:

Cobram is still on sale today, and if there's no stock near you, Coles actually gives raincheck vouchers, unlike Woolies.

      whats makes them ethicsal?

What do you guys think about the Woolworths La Gina Extra Virgin Olive Oil 3.78L - Standard price AUD 49 == 1.30/L ?

check out where produced. Spain > Turkey > Italy > Greece > Australia

      • you have that the wrong way around - AU first, Greece second etc.

    • Rubbish

Only buy Australian ones, there is one Red Island brand on sale
    Amazing

Why I would/should buy a ripping off wollie or coles brand whilst cheaper and better one available at Aldi.

  • +3

This brand of olive oil is terrible.

    • Agree x2

        how come

Maybe it’s the quality of the olives? Taste it and compare to something like Cobram.

I'm no expert, but I've switched from Moro to this exact one recently for my salad, roast veg and bread, thought it tasted way better. Which brands do you suggest otherwise?

      • Monini, colavita, Cobram are all good

    • Agree. Bought Bertolli last year. It tasted generic and slightly acidic. Cobram so much better.

If it's for cooking just use peanut oil for $7 or so

Due to inflation have been frying with water. Heaps healthy!

    • 🤣 best.

    • Had me in stitches 🤣

This years European olive harvest was a lot better than last year. Price of olive oil has been dropping drastically overseas and wouldn't be surprised if we get more deals like this in the near future.

    • why would supermarkets here be bothered to drop the price?

  • It’s showing $26
    Even store is saying $26
    Am I missing something here

    • I don't have that issue. Where are you based?

    • +1

Same for me. As well since the technical issues coles had on the 6th, the 750ml Cobram Estate that's on special for half price is missing

      • The stupid website maintenance last night caught me out. They shouldve done it after midnight

I had the ghost Cobram in my cart, waiting for the final half hour to check online stock and it did but I missed the order
