Recently picked up the Yard Force 1200W Solar Power Station deal so wanted to pickup a Solar Mat to pair with it.

Found this one for $209.30 which seems like a decent deal, although it's Preorder with dispatch from Dec 21st, 2024.

The 160W version also comes to $179.25 which currently is in stock.

For the Yard Force Station, just be mindful that you need a 30A anderson. It is smaller than the 50A. More at this comment about conversion. I've got a Voltage Electrical Supplies adaptor on the way for my Yard Force Station.

    • The Red Stacked ontop of the black looks very wrong.

Is that how the Yard Force really is?

They're usually side by side like this…

Is just the angle of the photo, it is a side by side. Here is a photo.

        • Definately the wrong configuration.

You unit has the more normal side by side.

The Voltage Elec adaptor says it's to suit the 'iTECH1300P Portable Lithium Power Station'
Which has the same odd vertical configuration.

You should be able to modify it as the anderson connectors dovetail together.

(edit - assuming they haven't glued it)
If it doesn't work out reach out to me, i have a pretty decent stock of 30A powerpoles and tools, can modify it for you.

The Yard Force will max out at 240w input through the mini Anderson port.

Got the same one from Aldi for $99 recently.

Dam, that must have been sitting on the shelf for ages
      To get down that cheap!

I got mine for $111 from ALDI, I'm not sure why it was that price but it did have a discount sticker on it.
I used it for the first time to run my Waeco 45L fridge. It's a bit of a pain to have it sit stable on the ground with an ideal angle to the sun, there's no mounts.
But it put out between 8-9 amps on a clear day, so it's claim of 9.33A would be easily achieved if you could orient it to the sun on a good angle.

  • The YardForce device has an unusual battery voltage. And they specifically say they offer 100W and 200W solar panels to charge it.

Do you KNOW other solar panels with other voltages will charge it? Or are you just hoping this one will will?

The YardForce manual says anything with a 10-30V input.

      https://manuals.plus/m/bb777796ac35109152573b8708784c47231e5…

      • Great, that's cleared that up. But note that the specs say 10-30V, 7A, max 210W. That is, you can only input 210W at 30V. With a 12V input its only 84W. That said, a "12V" panel actually produces about 18V, so you could use up to about a 120W panel. A "24V" panel produces about 36V, so you couldn't use it. So with an off-the-shelf cheap standard panel you are limited to charging at up to 120-130W.

The Yardforce has its own build in MPPT, it can be charged with both 12v and 24v at max 10A through the smaller 30A anderson plug. Im currently using a 160w powertech solar panel which i bought for 99 during BF sale and its max charge is 120w. I bought a smaller 30A plug from Jaycar and wired it myself. Working pretty good. Get full charge on a sunny day.

      • That's good. Its safe to put an oversize panel on it. It limits it to 7A.

        • +1

Most can be oversized but you need to check max amps and max voltage and match them - there is a good YouTube on over sizing power station solar and what you can get away with.. some have a hard watt limit too…

Highly recommend reviewing youtube reviews before committing… some of these 200 watt foldable blankets produce less that 100 watts. Like 60watt level of power on a good day
