Google Pixel Watch 3 Wi-Fi 45mm $569 (Was $669) + $5.99 Delivery ($0 C&C/ In-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

100

Been following smartwatch prices pre and post Black Friday and now JB-Hifi, Harvey and OfficeWorks are having a $100 off sale for the Google Pixel Watch 3.

Harvey is a buck cheaper, but good old JB has the $10 perk vouchers.

41mm WiFi is $492 ($579)
41mm LTE is $637 ($749)
45mm WiFi is $569 ($669)

I have a $350 gift card for JB from the Pixel 9 Pro deal and last week I filled in a trade in for the Galaxy Watch Ultra but eventually decided not to buy it.

So now I have $60 credit I could use towards this Google watch plus $200 voucher that I guess only works for the Ultra.

I was thinking of waiting for Boxing Day and see if the Ultra comes down to $899 again but this Pixel 3 would be less money and less ugly :P

If you are after the 41mm version consider getting the Pixel Watch 2. Other than a hugh price difference there aint much difference between the 2 and the 3.
And, if want the 45mm version you will have to get the 3, the 2 only came in the 41mm size.

Im over watches with one day battery life. Watches need 5 days minimum

Tech just isn't there yet for true smartwatches.

The ultras from Samsung/Apple seem to get that 60 to 80 hours with settings close to maxxed, and that's honestly no problem.

Especially since a 10 minute charge when low tops up enough juice for most of the day.

Main issue is no reverse wireless compatibility. Which would mean your phone can always top you up.

      Garmin.

weirdly though I read somewhere the standard Apple Watch with 18 hours battery is one of the top selling, if not the top selling smart watch globally.
apparently anyone who has a normal watch and wants to move to smartwatch buys an Apple Watch.

Yeah I charge my Forerunner 965 one every 7-10 days….I can't imagine only getting 24-48 hours out of a watch. That said with a Garmin its more activity focused, you're not going to get the full feature set of whatever these Google/Apple watches do…I guess people like sending emails from their watches or whatever? :P If you're just interested in time, maybe a bit of music over BT, and activity tracking through I couldn't go past Garmin. You just look at Strava…like 90% of people are rocking some Garmin device or another.

I guess people like sending emails from their watches or whatever?

not exactly sure tbh. but yes replying to messages/email is something my Garmin can’t do.
I think the Apple/google watch smarts is really the convenience of being able to install an app for specific product when you need it. such as Spotify, your fav fitness app or maybe even Eufy camera system.

to me a smart watch was simply, GPS, Notifications and NFC pay. all three which my Garmin venu SQ supports. and like you yes also gets around 2 weeks between needing to charge.

I don’t have the music version of the watch because it didn’t go on sale. the normal version with not be enough storage for music went on sale for $99 so I got that one. from what I remember the music version didn’t exactly have a large amount of storage anyway.

  • So next year, there will be pixel watch pro?

    • can I get a free meme with my order ? (since you are so funny).
note: this pixel watch pro comment is kind of peak 2024 ozbargain, coming into the comments of a deal not being interested in it just to poke fun at the deal? I don't understand the thought process in how this is useful?

      • 😂

      • coming into the comments of a deal not being interested in it just to poke fun at the deal?

tbh it made me mad at first too. but then after a few months I learned it was the ozb way (it's very common and mostly ignored by others).

because I was unconsiously seeing it everywhere even I started doing it, finding something small to comment on and whining on posts I had barely any interest in. just clicked a random post and whined.

but tbf hopper wasn't roasting the PW3 directly.

I have owned the Pixel Watch 1, Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, and now Apple Watch Ultra and I can comfortably say my favourite was the Pixel Watch. It's such a beautifully shaped pebble, designed in a way that you don't even feel like you're wearing a watch.

    • Did you ever use the Pixel watch with an iPhone?

      • I didn't, it was with a Pixel 6a. I also love Google's Wear OS, such a user-friendly interface.

        • Yeah, I love the shape of the Pixel Watch but I'm all Apple based :(

      • I believe you can only use Pixel Watches with Android.

      • I have a pixel 2 watch that I setup with my pixel 7, then I downloaded the Fitbit app that sync with the pixel watch. I downloaded the Fitbit app on my iPad and all sync perfectly. Though I assume that the updates can only be made via an android via the watch app

  • Good lord thats a lot of money for a watch

    • agreed. And the watch does not look as expensive as apple's design lol

    • I can't justify paying so much for what is essentially just an accessory. At least samsung has discounting to the sub $300 mark.

      • meanwhile apple watch ultra 2 selling >$1200 🤑

    • it will be down to $179~$199 when the PW4 is out. just like the PW2 when the PW3 was announced/released.

and just like the PW1 with the announcement of PW2.

  • Do you need a Bluetooth headset or earbuds to use the LTE version as a phone?

    • +2

speaker will do the job for calls, but you still need bluetooth for music apps like youtube music.

  • if you want some graphs with regression plots this is a good review.

  • I went to JB this morning to to check the watch again, but ehh, walked out empty handed. It's a great watch and I got $410 gift cards burning a hole in my pocket, but couldn't commit :P

What if I would tell you that you can save another 10% worth perks codes just released?

      • +1

Indeed, it’s past my bedtime and I just saw that Perks post… And the watch in my shopping cart at the moment :D

Should I sleep or should I click’n’collect? Lol

Edit: I will buy it tomorrow, no ragrets :)
