I’ve had these shoes before and they lasted ages. Good quality compared to many other shoes. Can recommend.

Many of the reviews say they're squeaky, do you have any comments referring to this?

      • +5

One review described them as comical squeaky ‘clown shoes’ 😆

        • +1

Time to be a clown (not like I wasn’t already)

        • Yeah I got some from Amazon once $50 and returned. they made AC funny creaking and sizing off.

          • @G-rig: EDIT: checked my Amazon orders - it was actually Tommy Hilfiger Men's Essential Leather Sneaker that was squeaking and ran big - very similar shoes but sounded ok for $50. Haven't had Lacoste, don't really buy fashion brands but see plenty of people with them.

        They're incredibly squeaky

        • Yep, workaround is to wipe the tongue of the shoe with a tissue sprayed with a little wd40

      • I don’t remember them being squeaky but other commenters say so. I got mine brand new from an op shop got $15. They lasted ages long time and pretty sure they were real leather. I wore through the sole before the upper gave way. They were my daily wears and I reckon I got over 2 years out of them.

        • maybe your shoe was made of better materials compared to the ones now being sold on amazon.

    • We bought 2 pairs when they were on sales a couple of years ago from Amazon. To be honest, they were not comfortable and they don't last. They probably fit people who have skinny feet, I don't know, but they certainly look good but not practical from my personal experience.

  • Some reviews mention squeakiness fyi

    • +4

      maybe a can of WD-40?

  • Good quality shoe at a great price. I've got 3 pairs of similar.

I have these and can confirm the squeakiness.

  • Size comp vs say Adidas?

    • +1

Both Adidas and Lacoste are a bit small with their sizing.. Their 29.5cm shoe is a size 13 US vs Converse who are size 11 for 29.5cm

      • I would argue that Converse are big in their sizing, rsther than the other way around, particularly when comparing Adidas and others to Converse.

For the squeakiness, I found the easiest solution is to rub a dryer sheet over all the leather parts that contact each other.

  • I am 9.5 US … which one should I go for ? US 9 or US 10 ..
Heard they are a bit big on their size .. anyone who’s owned them ?

    Regards

    • I wear 13 in Nikes and Adidas and these also fit well in a 13.

    • I am usually an 11.5 and purchased 12 previously as they don’t do half sizes. Can say after wearing in they were always a bit big and loose feeling. Last pair I went the 11 and they were damn tight for a week (near on painful to wear for extended periods) however now they fit perfectly.

In the future I will still downsize and put up with the painful wear-in process as they definitely stretch a bit. I’d recommend you go with the 9’s but you can always buy both and return one.

    • I'm also a 9.5 in most shoes. My advice - Dont bother with these unless you try on first. I've bought and sold size 9 lacoste that squeezed my toes, tried size 10, theyre way too big. Have to tie them really tight to not slip out the heel all day.

Also, this particular model seems to be leather (or synthetic) in the liner, rather that a fabric. This means its way less grippy on your heel, its more likely to slip. Wish I'd returned, but will sell for a los on FB if I can

  • Are these genuine leather? There's a review that says otherwise due to the squeakiness

    • +1

Genuine leather is the lowest quality leather.

  • To be kind their shoes don’t project the same cachet as their clothing. Similar with RL. Weird that they’re priced same or less than a polo shirt.

  • Have these, comfy and feel nice, no squeakiness for me!

  • +1

I have these, yes they are a bit squeaky

Was wearing this on euro holiday, came back with Morton’s neuroma

    • My uncles would send me their "hand me down" clothes, which were all Lacoste or Benetton, then I would wear them to school and get beaten up… 40 yrs ago.

      • Pretty preppy still.. fancy boy lol

        • Yep that's how it went… I'm still scared of wear those brands, and when people talk to me face on I instinctively glance back to ensure somebody else isn't crouched behind my legs aiding in tripping me over.

          • @raybies: Yeah but shouldn't need to worry these days. Eshays wear a few good brands now like that shirt with the Teddy bear :)

  • adding to the squeaky count here
