Experiences/ Thoughts on Kogan’s Apple Refurbs?

Hi all, I’m looking to buy a cellular Apple Watch, but as its for a kid (for safety etc) I’m not keen to spend too much.

I was originally looking at a Spacetalk watch but the reviews aren’t great, and they charge $7 a month for parent safety features, so I started thinking about a refurbed Apple Watch for around the same price.

Does anyone have experience buying Apple items on Kogan? Are the descriptions of “very good” etc accurate? Do the items actually seem decent condition? I’m a bit put off by only 6 months warranty.

Would rather use Kogan as I have credit on there, but if they’re just rubbish and other refurb options are a lot better, will consider.

Thanks.

With Kogan's history of product quality and after sales service I would not buy a "new" item from them, let alone a "refurbished" item

    • Only considering as have some money to spend on there thanks to the Kogan credit card deal.
I have purchased other electronics on there before but never refurbed items.

  • I purchased an iPhone 8 from Kogan for a friend wanting a low-cost handset. I thought the condition was over-stated but the price was low so we just accepted it. For accurate & consistent gradings go with stores that hold their own inventory (e.g. Phonebot) over marketplaces (e.g. Reebelo).

    • Good tip, thank you. I’ll have a look at Phonebot.

Buying direct from Kogan is one thing, not the greatest, but I've done it.

What OP is talking about is buying from a random seller via Kogan marketplace, which is different. Look for the "sold by" on the page.

    • Yeah unfortunately I don’t think it’s direct. It’s probably not ideal. Thanks for feedback .
