For example, these shoes to go wiff my tommy chino shorts and pants…

What other suggestions do you all have? I want something that makes me look like a classy (profanity), but at the same time doesn't make a hole in my wallet and is high quality and last a long time…

What do you expect as a quality? Last for 10 years after daily use? Stitching doesn't come off? Doesn't discolour?

    • I've had some like these get unstuck after one wear. It's a simple question.

For example, lacoste doesn't' last forever and isn't the most comfortable, but it doesn't get unglued overnight, etc.

It looks like it is made with soft leather, which is probably as good as Hushpuppy.
If it's unglued overnight, you can get your money back as it comes with six-month quality guarantee

They match Tommy Hilfiger shorts nicely.

Well I would think they do…

      • A coutura looks great under their shirt's sleeves

        • I decided to stick with my smart watch for now - I might get the casio 'panda' or some other, similar watch, to look more like a classy (profanity), even though I prefer the coutura. Sometimes it's not about what you want to do, it's about what you NEED to do….

Never bought their sneakers but shirts are nice though

  • I purchased a white pair about 3 months ago - can't say how long they would last long term but quality is good and they are comfortable after a few wears. Look great and really satisfied for the price. Much better than a Hilfiger or Lacoste pair from my observations.

  • Even at that price range you don't really get good quality these days. I had some $250+ shoes from some other homogenous mens chain that fell apart within 6 months.

Keep your receipt and be aware of when the warranty runs out, whatever you buy. Might as well use it when you're paying about double what things are really worth these days.

    • Yeah and I am asking since the band seems to have a good rep around these parts - you get designer quality for less.

    For $150 I’d take a punt.

As someone who owns a hell of a lot of shoes, much like ‘the truth’ and the truth, there’s ‘white sneakers’ and white sneakers.

The former being cheap crap you use a few times and then they start to look like what they are cheap shoes. Stan Smiths, Lacoste and Tommy fall into this camp. In addition, as comfy as they both are, white air force ones and On Running’s Roger editions also have this build quality. AF1s can have premium leather variety but the all white ones are not made from a quality material. On Running’s the Rodger Centre court and Advantage are my pick for super comfy minimalist white sneakers but the material they’re made from looks cheap after some wears.

Then there’s premium white sneakers which are made of good leather, well constructed and also look a million bucks after you use them over and over again (make sure you keep them clean, including the sole). Brand wise think/look up Oliver Cabell and Common Projects. Im fairly convinced all the premium ones are made in Portugal but they are great quality shoes.

I have a sneaky suspicion that CT’s sneaker falls into the latter camp based on what I can see of them. I haven’t been able to find out where they’re made but I think they are good quality shoes.

Except for Common Projects and Tommy, I’ve owned all the shoes I’ve listed above, my pick of white sneakers are RM Williams Surry for really dressy sneakers and On Running for comfort. I don’t rate RM’s boots as highly as others do (I prefer English made shoes and boots) but the Surry sneakers are excellent. They changed the design some years ago so if you can get the first generation ones at an Outlet, get the older ones.

The older Surrys look and feel like a more premium shoe. The older ones are made from Napa Leather (they also have no RM branding on the tongue which is a benefit). If you look at the box you’ll see Napa on the box’s tag. I bought 3 of the first Gen ones when they were discontinued with the last pair being $99 at an outlet in Adelaide (RRP I think was around $300-350 maybe).

    • Is this the one you are recommending? https://olivercabell.com/products/low-1-royal

The low 1? Only the white ones appear to be available in wide foot mode

      • Yep, Low 1s. FYI their website is in USD

        • WHATTTTT!?

Is this brand the real mccoy is it?

          • @BargainHunterJohnnyB: Yeah. The USD pricing is not obvious until you get to check out. They work out to being about AUD $300 landed.

OC are a good brand but also not the most expensive / best quality.

In your position if you’re after blue, I’d take the $150 gamble on CT’s sneakers than spend $300 on Oliver Cabells that way if you’re not happy with them you’ve only lost $150. CT has a okay returns policy (it’s $10 which for international shoe purchases is cheap). Even though I haven’t physically seen them, I’d hazard a guess and say CT sneakers will be good (and possibly great value for money if they are the quality I think they are).

The first Gen RM Surry used to come in the blue that you’re after years ago but they are long gone (they weren’t popular but looked really nice).
