Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra 256GB Titanium Orange $1,429.35, $200 Trade-in Bonus ($1219.35 with $10 Trade-in) @ Samsung Gov Portal

1320

Likely in the other EPP stores as well.

Did a $10 trade in but won't send anything so probably $10 + $30 charge for not sending anything in, taking the total to $1259.35.

Other colours have the trade in bonus but are $1759.20.

      • Yea good point.. try factory reset it.. haven't tried that yet… But I want to salvage around 400gb of photos and documents from it before trying.. I read people tried factory reset but didn't work, but worth a shot once I can get my stuff off the phone or flash. Thanks for the tip. I'll lookup how to flash

        • +2

Not to state the obvious here, but once you have your data retrieved and your new phone up and running, then make backups of the 400GB of data that you're trying to retrieve !!!!!

If there's important stuff on your phone, then you absolutely need to back it up.

There are literally a bazillion more ways to lose access to the data on your phone, not including the phone-malfunction way that you're currently working through.

Did it stop your enter button working as well?

      • no, my enter button works fine when i can log in after i freeze it

Looks like an ACL claim to me. Phone should last 3 years. Who was the vendor?

      • +1

I bought through Optus. I haven't even finished off paying my 36 month pay term with them, and it's a brick.. the Optus customer service person said there is only a 1 year warranty with them, and I have to go to manufacturer. Samsung said they only have a 24 month warranty. So its pretty messed up that i'm still paying what is now a defective brick. At the end of 36 months I will be the proud owner of a s22 ultra brick hahaha. This is the main info from my optus bundle plan Ive been paying off:

        Date: 22/02/2022

        Recurring Monthly Costs:

        $55 Medium Optus Choice Plus(Aug $55.00 (Term (Months) 1

        50% Discount for 12 months(Subs) $0.00 (Term (Months) 1

        GS22Ultra 512GB Black 5G Bundle $59.68 (Term (Months) 36

        Supplementary Services:
Recurring Intl T&T 35 Destinations $0.00 (Per month)

        Optus Sport $14.99 (Per month)
Optus Sport Subscription Disc $-14.99 1

TOTAL minimum cost over contract term(s) $2,203.48

      • I will give them a try maybe thankyou Kanjus

        • +1

Definitely worth a claim through ACL rights. Not fit for purpose.

          • @Kanjus: claim against optus or samsung?

            • +1

@JURBA: Definitely optus. They are the vendor. You have a strong claim unless they can demonstrate user damage.

              • @Kanjus: okay I will try to claim against optus thanks Kanjus and hothed ^^)

        • +1

          Try again, mention ACL.

          • @hothed: thanks, claim against optus or samsung?

          • @hothed: okay I will try claim thankyou!

Same price on education store and this deal has been around since Black Friday.
Can also get extra 5% off first order using the Samsung Shop app.

  • 1759 on my EPP store. Don't think all EPPs have this deal.

    • Try titanium orange color. Thats the deal, not all colors.

  • Having trouble with the order process, crikey their app and website are terrible. Almost every damn time I order a phone I have issues.

    • Finally managed it. Thanks OP! I'll probably whinge in a few weeks for missing out on S25 deals but such is life.

  • Device non-return fee is $60 and not $30 that OP mentioned.

    • My last two were $30, I think because they are such low value trade ins.

      Up to $60.

"Late Return Fee means a fee of up to $60 which may be charged by Asurion if you fail to post in your
Existing Device within fourteen (14) days after receiving Your New Samsung Device to your nominated delivery address. This fee is non-refundable."

      • What low value phones did you use for trade in

  • The upgrades so far are all the same cameras but one upgrade wide angle. Round corners (that look cheap imo) and better battery life and perhaps a better processor. Untill my phone battery lasts more than 2 days that means nothing. We shall see…

  • Vivo x200 pro vs s24 ultra for photo taking? Which is better? Will upcoming vivo x200 ultra be better than s25 ultra? See camera comparisons on YouTube… Tell me what you think of vivo x200 pro, what do you think? I'm thinking of getting vivo x200 ultra when it comes out with global version. Vivo x200 pro seems like a beast comparing some of its photos to s24 ultra and iPhone

    • +3

Easy, x200 if only considering photos.

    • -5

      CCP spy phone? No thx.

    • +2

Vivo wins in cameras hands down.l due to their bigger and better sony IMX sensors. Samsung is still using outdated Isocell sensors from 10 years ago.

      • +1

        interesting didnt know that

        • +2

          interesting didnt know that

Samsung relies on this, unaware people think 200mp > 48mp.

  • I used my uni email and it worked

  • Do these have SD card slots?

    • No.

      • Thanks!

  • +1

    AGL rewards portal worked.

    • Could you please help me. I have AGL rewards account. But not sure how it works. Thanks

  • $10 trade in, would cost just as much in postage to send it to them!

  • -3

Get the s25. The s24 barely is an improvement from the earlier

    • It is always like that, lol. There is no significant upgrade every year for all the phones, lol. You will see S25 series phones will be upgrade slightly from S24, then S26 S27 will be the same. If they do significant upgrade, they will have no idea for many years later.

      • +2

The biggest changes this gen is the snapdragon 8 gen 3 with efficiency gains, so hopefully battery is better, but right now only some of the Chinese phones have the new battery tech which improve energy density.

Samsung should just shove a 7500 mAh battery in the ultra and get rid of the camera bump. It's already a big phone an extra 1.5mm to make the phone battery last longer is a worthwhile tradeoff.

        • +1

all marketing stuffs, not actually practical. Nowadays, if you change the phone less than 3 years old, there is no significant improvement. My previous phone before S24 ultra is the S10 which is 5 years old

          • @n2h: My wife is still using the s10 plus right now, the camera is bad compared with newer phones and the software updates have made it quite sluggish. Also the battery is pretty much shot.

            • @azukay: The reason i changed to S24 ultra because my old S10 doesn't have 5G. Now, Australia shut down 3G so if your phone doesn't have 5G, the reception is very bad because of the limit of 4G. I got really bad experience after they shut down the 3G

      • +1

With the new processor at least it'll be better battery and performance. No ridiculous exynos crap

  • +1

Congrats to the people lucky enough to work or know someone with access. Nearly $1000 off RRP

  • -1

i got 512GB ones 6 months ago with that price, from an internal offer of my workplace, lol

  • +3

looking forward to s25 preorder deals. that's the way to buy Galaxy phones

last year paid $650 out of pocket for my S24U after trade in. plus got the free watch classic LTE.

no complaints about the phone at all, best one I ever had. maybe just the 3x camera could have been clearer, not using it often, it's a liability. 1x 0.5x snd 5x shooters are awesome.

  • Is it worth to trade with my Google pixel 7 pro 128gb? Total deal is $984.35 to trade in.

    • +1

440 equivalent isn't too bad of a trade in offer. I mean you might get 500 on FB marketplace but less hassle this way

      • JB hi-fi offers $285 but Samsung does only $245

    • After upgrading from a Pixel 4a to an s22 last month, I'm gonna take a bet and say probably not. It's been ages since I owned a Samsung phone… didn't think I'd miss the Pixel but here I am!

  • Any word on if the s25 series will have snapdragon chips or exynos?

    • Leaks reveal it will have SD Elite

  • +1

It's too bad i'll never deal with Asurion scammers again.

  • +5

Reading the comments about the upcoming S25, does anyone else get the feeling that new phone releases are incredibly boring these days? I remember back in the day when each generation was a marked improvement from the previous.

Now it's just "same screen, slightly better cameras, slightly faster processor, bit more RAM" plus "we bake in AI at every level!!!"

Personally I don't find AI in phones all that useful beyond novelty factor, could just be me though.

    • +1

Nope - you're 100% accurate, I reckon that's the way of the future now for the mainstream manufacturers….

Apple used to create innovative products, now nothing
Samsung used to create feature-full products and now nothing, exactly as you suggest, minor little updates and release it as a whole new version

      • +1

Thanks for that. Yes I remember those days too!

Good to sense check this stuff, cos I wasn't sure if it was just a case of becoming middle aged and feeling blase about new shit!

    • +1

Dunno about you but the long-press home button to bring up AI search and translate were game-changers for me. Made reading chinese, japanese, and korean stuff for comics, shopping, etc. became IMMENSELY easier. The AI search-on-demand is also a marked improvement from just long-press into web search.

    • Yes, but this year we have a generational leap in chipset tech, at least that is something. There are also rumours that the whole screen is an ultrasonic fingerprint reader.

    • +1

I upgraded from S22U to S24U and the difference was rather dramatic. battery life, performance, design, cameras, everything was a big step up.

      unsure about S24U -> S25U

  • +2

Four things usually push new phone sales these days
    1. New security improvements or android/ios versions
    2. Gamers
    3. Cameras
    4. Show offs

If you can compromise on the above, you can perfectly use a 4 year old phone now and save your money

    • +1

Unless the battery is stuffed, which is the main reason I'm upgrading. But otherwise you're 100% correct, there's no need to upgrade every 1-2 years.

  • Does it have to be an undamaged phone that you trade in?
I have a s8 that works but has a small crack.

    • Can be damaged one, they will assess it however

  • wife has 22 ultra, but complaining about degraded battery life, have to make her wait till S25.

    • +1

      Cheaper to change the battery?

  • got the s24 ultra 512gb black delivered for $1571 last week @ mymobile.

    • That's an imported model. But at least it has dual physical sims.

  • It seems like this is on the student portal as well (for Orange only).

If someone wants help purchasing this I’d be happy to help, you would need to do all the trade-in stuff yourself. I’ll just put in the payment through.

Also unrelated but I’m pretty sure we can stack the new app 5% off with this too.

Pretty good price despite the new series around the corner.

  • Hi All experts. what is the trade in condition. i don't have nothing to trade. if i select $10 phone to trade in and don't send anything? what happens after?

  • +1

For those with a working crystal ball, or those who have pre-ordered Samsung flagships in the past, do you think the S25U will come within $200/$300 of this price when factoring in launch deals?

    • +2

      Normally yes

      • Much appreciated mate

    • +1

S25 is expected to get Snapdragon and no Exynos at all and could be launched with more expensive RRP.

Will be interesting to see what deals come through.

  • fk me paying much more during black fri :(

  • Tried, but no matter what, I couldn't get it below 1300. Trade in bonus kept on glitching out.

    CBF

  • when will it be a 1000

  • i ordered this and now it says its on PRE-ORDER
    awaiting dispatch
    lame

    • January ship date for me. 😕

  • Damn, mine too.

  • Showing as $1759 for me, but I'm guessing price jumped as it's OOS now?

  • Showing up as 1.8k for me now…..

  • Showing $1759 for me as well

  • yeah the same $1759 for me now
