Likely in the other EPP stores as well.
Did a $10 trade in but won't send anything so probably $10 + $30 charge for not sending anything in, taking the total to $1259.35.
Other colours have the trade in bonus but are $1759.20.

There's a few ways to access different EPP stores: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/tggc_access
Also edu store has it
Phone is not worth that price i think
Really? Compared to what?
It depends.
If yiu use it 9nly for calling and texting, it may not.
But, if you use it for content creation for your business platform, which generates millions for your family, what would you say?
I can help you with that.
s25 range release late next month, probably better off waiting for pre sale deal
And if the bork the release like they did with the fold 6 we'll see the s25 deliveries sometime in April
Samsung phones and AMD gpus. Ozbargain loves overpaying for them at 10-30% above ATLs when next gen is imminent.
Still better value than an Iphone
could you share some info on how its still better value than an iPhone?
@OM123: Mate not falling for that one, too busy. And nothing I say will change the minds of Apple Fanboiz anyway.
S25 out in a month and a half, may as well just wait until then for the price drop on the S24 or decent launch deals on the S25.
agreed, wait until launch samsung doesn't hold there value well so it will be really cheap when the new one is out.
In 1 month these will be selling for 1k-1.1k
I want to take it for my niece. I am travelling in Jan end.
Do you reckon this would happen or is it just a gut feeling?
Announced date:
S22 09 Feb
S23 01 Feb
S24 17 Jan
Almost guaranteed they will release a phone for Jan/Feb. Available usually a week or two after announcement.
Not even a rumour anymore. Specs have mostly leaked, dimensions and so are already known (I guess because of 3rd party accessory manufacturing. Last I read, they even have an event date and location penciled in (it's January) - though not widely spread at this point.
Also similar announcement dates way back to the S20.
Typically nah.
The s23 isnt something you can buy from samsung anymore for example. They are trying to make their resale price be more
Have you seen their sales numbers for the ultra series going down every year. They always create a pricing floor with the pre-orders. S24U could be had for the same price as this deal at launch.
Did a $10 trade in but won't send anything so probably $10 + $30 charge for not sending anything in
How does this work and where is it specified?
I think it's $60 no return fee
I've done $10 ones in the past and only been charged $30. I've been charged $60 for more expensive trade ins but have since learnt my lesson and make sure I make the item damaged when I go through the trade in steps.
Thats not correct. I used $5 trade in values in a couple of trade in deals I did in recent past and was charged $60 both times. Regardless of what the trade in value is, they now charge $60.
@OZBsince2018: No they don't. Read their t&c.
@Bruceflix: Read clause 5.7(a) of the terms and conditions.
I am telling you what I have been charged in my past two trade in deals when I didn’t send the devices back. This is the email I received from them as a Final Reminder after which they charged me $60 as Late Return Fee:
“Our records show that your original device has not been sent to us as part of your recent trade-in SP********.
This is the final reminder to post your device within the next 24 hours, otherwise we will charge you a late return fee of up to $60, which is non-refundable.
Remember, we will not process a refund of the Security Charge until we receive and assess your original device.“
@OZBsince2018: 5.7 (a) says in accordance with 7.3 (a)
Which, without quoting, as I'm on my phone which makes that difficult, mentions late return fee 14 days to 90 days.
After 90 days the trade in is cancelled. There is no further fee.
If you trade in, under these t&c, there is no penalty for not returning.
Sure, they will still warn you about late return fee and can charge you if you send back your device between 14 days and 90 days.
If you don't send back and they charge you, which they won't. But if they did, contact your bank, request chargeback and supply the t&c as reason.
Personal experience of 2 x tradeins on fold 6 where i didn't send anything back and a trade in for a galaxy watch ultra. Where i also failed to return anything. Never got charged any extra fee. Would have challenged it if i did
Read the contact. It's literally in black and white.
As stated. Those t&c are from July 2024 to now. Before July 2024 there were different t&c
@OZBsince2018: So they take the $50 deposit and don't refund it, and charge $60/$30 Non return fee on top ? so total damage is $50 + $60/$30 ?
@chin2: They charge the trade in value of the device to your card, which is released/refunded once they receive the device. And if you don’t send the device they charge additional $60 for not sending the device within 14 days of receipt of your order.
@OZBsince2018: so you could just block payments on your card?
@realaccount627465746: Thats a fraud, so I wouldn’t do that.
@OZBsince2018: Ok, Thanks.
@Bruceflix: From the T&C:
"Late Return Fee means a fee of up to $60 which may be charged by Asurion if you fail to post in your Existing Device within fourteen (14) days after receiving Your New Samsung Device to your nominated delivery address. This fee is non-refundable."
Up to $60.
Thanks mate. Can you refer to where it is mentioned?
No, sorry, just from experience.
Under the current T&C on Samsung Trade-in there is a $60 late tradein fee if the device is returned after 14 and before 90 days. After 90 days, the tradein is cancelled and the security deposit is forfeited with no further penalty.
See 7.3 (c)
https://images.samsung.com/is/content/samsung/assets/au/term…
So essentially one will lost whole $200 + $60 penalty, right?
@thegreatermamba: The $60 penalty is only if you return device between 14 and 90 days. If you NEVER return the tradein device there is no penalty.
@Bruceflix: Sorry it is not making much sense to me.
So, I choose a $10 device to return and do not return it, I save $200?
@thegreatermamba: You get $10 tradein. But you pay $10 deposit. You also get $200 tradein bonus. If you do not return device, they keep the $10 deposit.
That is all
@Bruceflix: This is not the case. I just asked the support.
If you fail to return the old device for trade-in, all trade-in discounts that were applied to your order will be charged back, with an additional $60 admin fee from our Trade Up Team.
@thegreatermamba: Correct, this is such a strange hill for Bruceflix to die on.
@spirrowhack: Contract law is contract law. Read it. If they do ANYTHING outside of the T&C that they provided issue a chargeback.
Done plenty of trade ins over the years. Have used Samsung/Asurion t&c to my advantage many times.
If English is not your first language i can understand your confusion but otherwise. Read the t&c in full.
@Bruceflix: You are cherry picking sections, not taking into account the whole T&Cs. You would be better off not misleading people reading the comments. You can say it as much as you want but if you don't return the phone after 14 days you'll get a fee, it's right there in the T&Cs. Just because your interpretation is that you won't get a fee if you don't send it in, doesn't mean your interpretation is correct.
Again:
"Late Return Fee means a fee of up to $60 which may be charged by Asurion if you fail to post in your Existing Device within fourteen (14) days after receiving Your New Samsung Device to your nominated delivery address. This fee is non-refundable."
If you don't return anything, you won't have returned it after 14 days and will get a fee. The between 14 and 90 day thing relates to other parts of the T&Cs.
Good luck arguing you shouldn't get a fee ✌🏻
@spirrowhack: Incorrect. Again. The T&C were updated in July 2024 after Asurion copped a heap of shit over their conduct with tradeins. I would guess section 7 of the T&C were not present in their conditions before July 2024. On my PC so will quote directly from them. You can neg all you want. You are merely showing you cannot comprehend written English. Not your fault. Either not a native speaker or a byproduct of a failing education system.
5.7 If You:
(a) fail to post in Your Existing Device to Us within fourteen (14) days after the date on
which You receive Your New Samsung Device at your nominated delivery address, You
may be charged a Late Return Fee in accordance with clause 7.3(a) below; or7.3 Late Returns:
(a) If You return Your Existing Device to Us more than fourteen (14) days but less than
ninety (90) days after the date on which You receive Your New Samsung Device, We will:
(i) accept Your offer to transfer ownership of Your Existing Device to Us (in which
case You enter into a contract with Us for the sale of Your Existing Device to Us
and ownership of Your Existing Device will transfer to Us); and
(ii) charge You a Late Return Fee.
(b) If You return Your Existing Device to Us more than ninety (90) days after the date on
which You receive Your New Samsung Device, We will:
(i) not accept Your offer to transfer ownership of Your Existing Device to Us (in
which case You do not enter into a contract with Us for the sale of Your Existing
Device to Us and ownership of Your Existing Device will not transfer to Us); and
(ii) arrange for Your Existing Device to be returned to You.
(c) If clause 7.3(b) applies You will not receive a refund of the Security Charge due to You
already having received an equivalent reduction off the Purchase Price of Your New
Samsung Device Online.
That isn't cherry picking. That is following English in a standard contract.
@Bruceflix: Good projection with your insults, but you you just quote terms without an explanation of your apparent comprehension.
There isn't a mention of not returning your device at all so if you do that, it falls under what I quoted directly from the terms you linked. How are they going to tell if you're never going to return your device if it's already fourteen days late? They aren't going to refund the late fee if it gets to ninety days and you either return it haven't returned your device.
I'll happily admit I was wrong if they don't charge me the late fee but I'm not going to engage in your bush lawyer argument any more. I'll come back and let you know how I go after the period lapses.
@spirrowhack: As pointed out in my recent comment. Their earlier T&C that were superceded in July 2024 do not have the 14-90 day limitation.
https://images.samsung.com/is/content/samsung/assets/au/care…
These are the T&C from Nov 2023 to July 2024
This WOULD have gotten a charge for not returning.
hopper is correct, it used to be a $30 trade in, but is now $60, regardless of the device. I ordered the S24U at the start of the year, and using the cheapest device on the trade-in list, still got charged a $60 no-return fee. The same "trade-in" device two years ago cost me an extra $30 for my S22U.
There is no additional fee if you do not return a device. Only if you return your device late. There is also a misgrading fee if the device is in a different condition to how described.
Thats not correct. If you do not send your device, they send you a few reminders and then charge a device non-return fee of $60. I was charged in both the trade ins I did in recent last.
@OZBsince2018: Here are the current (July 2024 and onwards) terms and conditions.
https://images.samsung.com/is/content/samsung/assets/au/term…
There is no such "device non- return fee". It literally doesn't exist. So if they charged you that, contact your bank for a chargeback.
@Bruceflix: They charge this fee as “Late Return Fee”. Please read the Clause 5.7(a) of the terms and conditions you shared.
Also see the below email that I received from them when they charged me $60 as Late Return Fee:
“Our records show that we still haven't received your original device which you are required to send to us as part of your Samsung Trade-Up order SP*********.
As it has now been more than 14 days since you received your new Samsung Galaxy, we have charged you a late return fee to your nominated payment card. Please note, you can still send us your original device to receive a refund of the Security Charge.”
@OZBsince2018: Was this for a trade in before or after July 2024?
Im guessing before.
You also fail to mention that in the current t&c 5.7 (a) is in accordance with 7.3 (a)
Maybe read the whole document. Which includes 7.3 (a) (b) and (c)
Here's my two fees from April and May:
I foolishly said my device was all good in April but when I bought my Mum's phone I said it was busted and only got the $30. Both S24 Ultra purchases.
And that was before July on a trade in with different T&C.
I guess you are one of those that never read them and just complain when things don't go your way.
Probably rent a pc from nzxt
Just FYI those Tradeins would have been subjected to earlier (AND NO LONGER VALID) T&C where there would have been a late fee charged after 14 days.
The older T&C from November 2023
https://images.samsung.com/is/content/samsung/assets/au/care…
Note: The updated T&C from July 2024 only charges if device is returned between 14 days and 90 days.
I’m here to say I really miss the $500–$600 Samsung flagship deals.
Is that where you traded something, joined a mailing list, signed up for the release launch, what other fake hoops did I miss ? I’m sick of it they should sell their phones for what they are worth , $700
I’m talking about these deals:
- https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/805370
But they probably aren’t coming back as they’ve changed their CFO and sales strategy
Yes, bring back DJ Koh and let him finish off the job he started. This TM Roh guy aint it.
Great phones. But the whole fake RRP then give everyone fake discounts so they think they got 50% off the phone is just like Woolies and coles, it’s all a smoke screen but it clearly works or they wouldn’t do it . The phones are $700 phones
@Onemoredeal: Yeah im over the launch hoops to get a semi realistic price, but only if you stand on one foot while placing the order.
Its made worse when there is credit to buy accessories and half of them are getting in a flux of being restocked and out of stock.
@Onemoredeal: So iphones 512gb are 2500, plus apple care.
Samsung s24 ultra for even 1500 is reasonable. Not sure where you get 700 phones.. there a big brand with local stores and next best aftercare to apple.
Vivo x200 is 1799 global version. To me.. this is a 700 phone. Brand no ones knows, no stores or aftercare… all the risk is with us, wont work with people apple watch or samsung watch..
But what you say is subjective so respect your viiew… just dont think its right.
Don't forget the $50 chat code!! Ah yes, you had to click the right chat window and try a couple of reps.
Can you tell more about it?
To me - the one I interacted with flatly said - Thanks for your interest in getting a new Galaxy S24 Ultra. We don't have loyalty voucher offers at this time for the mobile products. The mobile products are already on 20% off RRP sale in the Samsung Partnership Portal.
@thegreatermamba: Sorry this was back in the s21 days.
probably round this price if you sell off all the pre-order bonuses for the upcoming S25 Ultra. My phone came up to about $600 after I sold accessories
Mine is more cheaper if i add galaxy watch 6 RRP $850.
Pixel has taken over Samsung in cheaper deals now I think.
Why buy this, 25 is coming out in two months.
Why, because the 25 Ultra will probably be > $2k
S25 will be 2k
but they usually have discounts when released
Kinda like this phone has now! Given inflation and this year's sales, I'd guess it's very unlikely you'd be able to get something better than this phone for less than $1200, especially in January/Feb next year.
I'd also like to be wrong though!
S23 Ultra still my favourite phone of all time. The deals were simply LIT!
They were okay? The double capacity was good. But the credit for the overpriced accessories? Maybe the smart tags. The tradein values was not as good as last year though.
From memory the main discount was something like $250 and then another targeted extra discount. So much at once. But the phone was over 2k (ultra). They do it so they can have that price stat post sale, but still.
Yeah but why buy that when the 26 is coming out in 12 months?
Because 2 months is 13x less than 26 months?
Huh, it's not breaking any rules or against any job contracts as far as I'm aware. Why would it be shady?
It actually is breaking the aps code of conduct policy. You can't use your government email for anything that's not work related or to access discounts such as this offer.
Go away. Nobody likes you.
You must be a barrel of laughs at work.
Don't tell bro about Apple Edu where it's even more lenient lmao. Don't even need any ID.
He is correct though… They cracked down on it 2-3 years ago and they do audits regularly to ensure compliance.
Westpac customers can access the discount through rewards.
Just check both Westpac app (Reward section) and website and cannot see Samsung as option anymore.
Can you please share a screenshot or show me where I can get it (from Westpac app?)
/Just check around and it seems Samsung offer only for Westpac Business One Plus account.
Westpac has removed Samsung from their offer list.
Yeah that's a shame! Been there all year. Hopefully they reinstate it.
I bought an s22 ultra feb 2022 for around $2000.. worked great till I installed their latest software update on November 27 before bed… Next day my phone alarm goes off, I turn it off and scroll through ozbargains for a deal… It freezes for a second… I think that's odd, must be laggy… 10 seconds later the screen freezes for 20 seconds… I think that's weird never happened before… Then it reboots.. and won't stop rebooting itself until the battery dies… I recharge it.. it's stuck in a reboot loop… Alot of things recommended on YouTube.. only thing that gets me to logging to use the phone is to leave it in the freezer for 15-20 minutes, somehow the cold allows it to load into the phone, and then I can use it for about 30 seconds before it heats up I guess, and goes back into reboot loop
…. Look it up on the Internet.. many people have this issue with s22 ultra and can't solve it.. Samsung bad update.. i had 24 month warranty.. my s22 ultra is a brick now because of Samsung dodgy update.. I took care of it, it's in excellent condition, but their update turned my phone into a brick.. I need it for work everyday… As good as Samsung tech/hardware may be, I will be buying an alternate phone, doesn't have to be as good as Samsung, but at least other phone will not become a brick in the 2 years and 10 months I had mine… I have an old cheap Motorola phone that has lasted 10+ years still works… I might have to buy an iPhone or the vivo x200 pro global edition instead when it gets a decent price… I bought the Motorola edge 50 neo in meantime, decent cheap phone working well, camera ain't great though, and screen all… But at least it has .5 zoom instead of S22 ultra.6 zoom.. takes wider shots and makes my job easier ^^P
I would install a custom rom on the s22. You have to root it and would loose samsung pay.
Thanks for the tip I'll keep trying to get it to work.. thinking if I can take it into a walk in fridge get it cold I might be able to transfer stuff off it atleast.. I'll look that up see if I can do it thanks… If I can just get my s22 ultra to start working again, I will sell it as soon as possible, don't want to be on their platform… I can't even sell it anymore.. if I had another phone it would be working and I could have got at least $500 from it.. yeah it sux, thankyou Samsung. Just warning to anyone considering buying an s22 ultras… Not sure if it happens on the other Samsung ultra phones.. but I would avoid s22 ultras like the plague. If you lookup 'boot loop s23 ultra' or 'boot loop s24 ultra' I would check if it's happening to those phones aswell before buying… If there is a chance it could happen to the phone your looking to purchase, I would avoid it. And get something that will last and you can resell in the future if you want, that won't just brick after warranty ends on a dodgy update
I am sorry but this is just plain ridiculous. It is a 2 yr old phone for heaven sake. An update should not make it useless!
why do you want to loose samsung pay?
Id consider reflashing it to the start and see if it helped.
Should probably put in the title if this is the 256 or 512 version
