  • How's the game?

    • Better than Overwatch 2, I hear

    • for a free game, it's good as!

    My Two Cents:

    I played a little on PS5. I wasn’t really feeling it.
I was a huge Overwatch guy back in the day before they lost me with 2.

This plays like a slower, less mechanically sound version of that.

I thought the characters looked great but found the voice acting so-so.
I also thought some of the ‘Duelists’ (DPS) played eerily similar to one another, lacking that kind of distinct individuality that OG Overwatch had in spades.

I think people should give it a go though especially if you’re a Marvel or Superhero fan.
I think it’ll find an audience and roadmap sounds solid IMHO.

    • I play Overwatch, only plat ranked but imo Rivals has some characters with much higher skill floors (and ceilings), it's a new game so everyone is still working things out. I get what you mean by slower, the wall climbing and some regular movement animations are janky but the map traversal capabilities on some of the characters are like no other in OW.

I'm old. And I've never played Overwatch.

Primary attacks seem underwhelming. Secondary attacks are alright. Characters have different controls for different things. Even those in the same class. I only played a couple of rounds. Maybe I'm not remembering it right.

It's not like TF2 where the controls for all the characters are more or less the same.

Maybe that's just the nature of these Overwatchy games. I'll stick to my Zero Build Fortnite. It sucks getting old kids. You don't know what you got until it's gone.

Speaking of, I'm going to tolerate a few more matches to get my free Rivals x Fortnite glider.

      • Thanks for the glider info, didnt event know it

  • it's pretty good for a free game, only complaint is the UI is terrible and clunky.
