These go alright. Have noticed a little leaking on the handle with olive oil.

    • +1

Ours only lasted 2 years :(

    • Yeah that happened with mine after a year. I couldn’t be stuffed after getting oil all over my hand and threw it out.

I think it depends on the oil and the temperature of the room.

Winter made it leak while in summer it sprays fine.

      • Yea same thing happen to mine

  • +9

oil and plastic are probably a bad combination at any time but with foodstuffs, even mores.Reference 'Beyond Plastics'. Some bad reviews additional to the likes

    • +5

There is now a glass model, it’s a bit more expensive.

      • Was gonna say.. the plastic can be a pain to clean (proper) also

        • +3

Found mine literally impossible to clean due to its design and so ditched it. Mentioned it on a past deal, got down voted to oblivion, and have been dwelling in hell ever since.

@gakko: People don't want to question a bargain here.

            • @Commodore64: Indeed. Or consumption more broadly. But hey it's toasty down here all year!

        • You clean these? lol its just oil!

      • Isnt the nizzle and top still all adtuc anyways?

  • +15

Tried, first spray was good then terrible after. Don't recommend.

  • I use mine for the bbq sometimes. Hasn't worked well since day one. Difficult to get the oil to disperse evenly

  • Yeah these are a great idea but average, when they do actually work out of the box they don't last long.

    • Don't ever tilt these when spraying. Prime it til it sprays nice, then keep it standing upright while spraying it on your food. I know, but thats how it works best.

Also, put a bit of vinegar in it and spray that out to 'clean' it. Can be vinegar with warm water, but it ungunks the nozzle.

      Happy cooking.

Have bought 3 or 4 of these for me and 1-2 for a friend, over the past 2.5 yrs+

All of them are perfect - we use them for water and peanut oil. Sprays great, give it a clean every time it empties and you're even better.

Have a glass one I'll put with EVOO.

  • +3

    Overrated, never sprayed

  • Maybe these are hit and miss based on comments, my 2 which I've had since 2021 have been amazing. One is slowly less effective these days but for the $6 I paid can't complain

    • +3

get a glass of hot water, unscrew the sprayer part, plonk it in the glass and spray, i found that unclogs it.
      .

      • Thanks, will give it a go!

  • I like mine, but family members also hate them

Btw don't fill it to the top. When it needs cleaning you'll want to empty it

  • +2

Had one of these, leaks pretty often.

  • +1

Bought one of these last time. Thought be awesome for camping. Basically didn't make it out of kitchen just clogged up from the oil and refused to spray until I poured boiling water over it and poked with a needle. It won't stay clear ended up breaking. Thumbs 👎

  • +9

These suck, they don't "spray" they squirt like a water pistol

    • +3

yeah the old models worked, these new models you need to squeeze quickly too get a spray, otherwise it's just a stream. which is the opposite of what decor support tells customers.

      • Will try this next time

  • +3

just shoots a straight stream instead of a spray after using it twice. useless waste of money and oil

  • +2

Not a fan either, it tends to leak at the trigger mechanism covering hands in oil.

  • After about 1-2 years the spray effect is more of a squirt in 2-3 random directions. Still picking one up for that price. Thanks OP.

  • +3

Ordered one from Temu with a glass bottle/stainless steel top for a similar price. Awaiting delivery to compare

    • +1

      I eagerly await your report

  • mine got broken in 1 year :(

  • +5

I bought it and hated it, useless save your money

Someone in a previous Decor deal suggested the Kmart refillable oil spray, I tried one and found it to work better than my 2 Decor ones.

    • +2

Thanks for the info. I didn't know Kmart has this product!

These used to be ok-ish back in the day but the new design is junk. I've been using the style below for over a year (olive oil) every day and the spray is far better. Much finer mist with more even coverage. These are all over the internet with varying qualities but typically the GLASS versions are good.

I bought one of these almost two years ago when they were on sale (in march 2023 according to the amazon page) and it works fine for me. Sprays well and no leaks. I only use it with olive oil though, and only keep the bottle half filled, if that matters. Maybe the kind of oil makes a difference?

    • +1

Agree to all of the above.

People here hate them, but mine has been going fine.

I half full and clean the filter when it needs refilling

      • It's a bit relative (even the best version of this) . You would think it's good until you try the one I mentioned above and you'd realise they're far better and easier to spray :)

  • Anyone know a better sprayer than this crap? I have used these for 3 years, change through all different versions, and still hate them, especially the latest version. If you don’t press the trigger fast and strong, it only shoots out a small stream of oil, no spray at all.

  • Bought this last time, it just leaks everywhere and the pump doesn't work anymore

  • Mine never worked. Blasted out oil in a high powered messy stream

  • I've had a couple of these over the years and they are ok. Always have a good spray using rice bran oil, not tried other types.
The older design with the inner seemed better but was hard to fill. Current one the plastic bit that 'springs' back the trigger snapped so might look at the glass alternative above.

  • +1

There's about 3 versions of this sprayer, the second is the best and has a good spray. The third (current model) is horrendous, super thin plastic trigger and just cheaper feeling all round. Can't recommend it anymore.

  • +2

Considering buying this but put off my the mixed reviews.

Got this instead, really happy with it: https://www.amazon.com.au/TrendPlain-16oz-Dispenser-Bottle-K…

    • Looks exactly like the AliExpress one linked in an earlier comment except more expensive and shipped faster. I do wish they'd tint the glass to prevent degregation from sunlight

  • These are rubbish. We have 2 and both just spurt oil rather than spray it. Given up on them.

  • These are sh1t. Own two. Hate them

  • Just covers my hand in oil. Pretty useless in my case. Cheaper to just pour oil directly from your bottle onto your hand.

  • These are terrible and don’t spray it in an even mist as intended.

  • Any good recommendations for one for the bbq?

  • +1

Mine has been great at the BBQ for a few years now. Would recommend.
