    All products OOS

  • Don't be a scab!
Shop at coles/aldi/local until the strike is resolved.
Woolworths reported a $1.7 billion profit for the last financial year.
Must screw the workers harder or they might risk their $2,000,000,000 profit this year!

    • Last time I checked employment laws in Aus, employees have the free right to decide if they are signing an employment contract and agreeing to the stipulations within… I don't see the strike being resolved any time soon, apparently the ask is 25% increase across 3-year period, can't see both sides getting anywhere near that mark.

Woolworths workers in the distribution centres need to up and leave if they aren't happy. Imagine everyone just striked every time someone wanted more money. No one is holding people hostage to stay working there if they aren't happy. Just leave if you don't like the conditions or the amount you're being paid. Such a pain in the proverbial!

The more this union crap keeps happening with these companies and government entities , the faster and hard companies will invest in AI to remove these people out of a job so they don't have to deal with this.

Selfish workers need to stop holding the public to ransom every time they want more money

      • So selfish on $25.75 per hour…$978 per week….rich bastards driving their rolls royces to work!

        • -1

If they don't like it, they can leave. Plenty of jobs out there paying similar rates.

      • Spoken like a true bootlicking scab.

Let me guess.. woolies worker? Or perhaps some other unionist workforce whinger?

I just want to go to woolies and get groceries without the drama. Sure, I can go to Coles or Aldi or whatever, but why should the public be inconvenienced because these sookie la la woolies workers want to have a cry about their pay.

They're gonna replace these workers in distribution centres with more AI robots and workflows anyway, so either way, woolies wins.

This is just fuelling that fire and these silly workers need to move on if they don't like it.

          • @mrmaltalian: Oh yeah, I forgot you have to be an actual employee who's affected to have compassion.

            • @Tacooo: Compassion for what? Youre not hard done by if you’re working at Woolies. Go get another job if you’re unhappy. That’s what people do! Not sit there sooking and crying until you get what you want

              • @mrmaltalian: Compassion for workers not getting a fair wage or working conditions. Clearly that's not you and I'm wasting my breathe.

                • @Tacooo: What's stopping these employees from leaving and getting what they are worth? If they really wanted to screw woolies over, they'd quit en masse and then leave them high and dry. Once again, selfish workers hide behind unions out of laziness because they can't be bothered looking for a new job that's going to treat and pay them right. There's no job shortages for the types of skills required to work in these $25/hr jobs. Workers find it easier just to complain and whinge until they get what they want.

If you want the rolls royces and the sweet pay day dividends like the crappy execs are getting, then you go educate yourself and work your way up to the top so you can have that too. Quit complaining and wasting everyone's time with your union crap and go find a new job that will give you what you want and what you're worth. Simple

There will be 1000s of immigrant workers that will take these distribution jobs in a heart beat and won't complain about it either. Aussies are just lazy and strike at the drop of a hat because they can't be bothered.
