Ways to Use Everyday Rewards and Flybuys Points?

Hi OzPointHackers,

I've accumulated a bit of points lately due to all the bonuses. I'm not a big shopper at Colesworths, pretty much only do one shop at either for the 10% to recover the membership costs if there's no other incentives running at the same time. The more expensive things I typically buy are:

  • SodaStream co2 bottles. My local brewer shop charges less but I'm just trying to use the points at this point.
  • SIM starter packs. Just got back on NBN so won't need these that often now.

Flybuys points can be redeemed for gift cards, so that is less of an issue. Woolies points have to be spent in multiples of $10, and voids all cashback deals lol

Do you have any suggestions?

  • I convert mine to Velocity.

I don't bother converting Woolies to Qantas points.

    • I had a look at the Qantas points conversion as a way to get giftcards just now, the rate is pretty bad.

flybuys i convert to velocity when they have the bonus.. Woolworths i just take the $10 off shopping whenever it comes up

Just pay for your shop with the points and use that spare cash for what ever you want; or just take it as money saved…

    • Agree, No need to exchange points for a RRP item when we know as bargain hunters we can get most things cheaper ourselves.

    I use mine for shopping.

I believe you can also use ERDs at the Woolworths Everyday Market. Prices in many cases appear to be inflated so due diligence is required.

That's where I was looking at spending them, but without the weekly upsized cashback deal, it's hardly worth it.

    • Flybuys Travel lets you book hotels and flights and you can pay/part pay with Flybuys points. Rates and fares are typically priced around the same as other comparison sites.
    • Pay for fuel and in-store purchases using Flybuys Dollars at Shell Reddy Express/Coles Express (on top of any fuel discounts you may have)
  • Qatar or Singapore business class

  • EDR dollars can be used to purchase fuel

    https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/discover/fuel/eg-ampol

    • Everyday Rewards Dollars can only be redeemed on purchases of fuel (and eligible in-store items) at EG Ampol on mainland Australia.

EG Ampol in Tasmania is currently excluded from the Everyday Rewards program, which means you cannot redeem Everyday Rewards Dollars (nor earn Everyday Rewards points) at those service stations.

It depends on where you are located and what you would purchase.

    Everyday Rewards

You can redeem Everyday Rewards Dollars at multiple retailers, not just Woolworths:

    • Woolworths Supermarkets and Woolworths Metro (both in store and online at woolworths.com.au, including Everyday Market from Woolworths, but excluding any products supplied by Healthylife Pharmacy to Everyday Market from Woolworths and MILKRUN)

    • BWS (both in-store and online at bws.com.au)

    • BIG W (both in-store and online at bigw.com.au, and BIG W purchases on Everyday Market from Woolworths)

    • MILKRUN (via the MILKRUN app)

    • MyDeal (both online at mydeal.com.au and via the MyDeal app)

    • EG Ampol (in-store at mainland Australia service stations only)

    • Petstock (in-store and online at petstock.com.au)

BIG W may be a fast-ish way to redeem your Everyday Rewards Dollars, especially if you want to purchase a new iPad, AirPods, a new Android phone, a gaming console, video games or LEGO (either in-store or online).

EG Ampol is also another fast-ish way to redeem Everyday Rewards Dollars if you purchase fuel from there, assuming the service station you visit is located on mainland Australia and you go in-store to make your payment. Everyday Rewards Dollars can be redeemed in conjunction with fuel discount offers at EG Ampol.

    Flybuys

Flybuys points are probably easier to burn through, because there is a wider array of redemption offers and possibilities available.

    • Flybuys Dollars (redeemable in-store at Coles, First Choice Liquor Market, Liquorland, Kmart, Target, Officeworks, mycar and Shell Coles/Reddy Express). That means you could purchase a new MacBook Pro or iPhone from Officeworks, or new car tyres from mycar (as examples).

    • Flybuys Gift Cards store (which you already mentioned). That is particularly handy if you want a gift card to use in-store at Bunnings, or a TCN Good Food digital gift card to use at merchants assigned MCC 5812 (Eating Places & Restaurants) or MCC 5813 (Drinking Places).

    • Flybuys Rewards Store (but I tend to ignore that, tbh).

    • Flybuys Travel (but I tend to ignore that too).
