Running Two Instances of Everyday Rewards on an Android Phone?

Hi all,

Has anybody here had any success with operating two copies of the Everyday Rewards app on their phone?

I have a Pixel 9 Pro XL, not rooted.

I have Shelter installed, which leverages the work profile to install a second copy of an app. However, Rewards just starts and instantly closes using this method.

I'd prefer to have it so it can update if needed.

They developed the app. They would know…

And why would they want you to be running two versions of the app?

          Really makes you think

            @OZBMate8911:

And why would they want you to be running two versions of the app?

They should be able to explain to you if you can or not.
Their job is to provide customer service.

Not sure on pixel but on Samsung, there is a 'secure folder' app that allows very easy duplication of android apps.

I do this for all my second instance of everyday rewards, flybuys, maccas, kfc, uber eats etc

      second instance…..maccas

Rookie numbers. Minimum 7 accounts for platinum ozbargain membership.

wow you guys are the pro of the pro

        • I login to the Maccas app like 20 times every time I make an order to find a deal that will make it worth it

  • Xiaomi miui14 can run dual apps

    • my Poco X3 pro runs MIUI 13, will do dual apps, but won't do WW Rewards as a dual… just crashes per OP

    • I had to jump ship from Xiaomi because of the 4G shutdown unfortunately. That's why I bought the Pixel!

        What !!!!!!!!!

        😲

      • Also had to jump ship Poco f3 which could run dual apps now looking for an app cloning program that works for the WW Rewards cards.

Have you looked at "private space"? New in Android 15.

    • I have not tried this. I'll give it a go.

Reading through that, I suspect I'll have a similar issue to the work profile.

Thank you, this worked great for me!
Have installed and signed in to Everyday rewards and mymaccas so far, all looking normal.

      Pixel 9 Pro

      • Awesome, I'll try this tomorrow 😎

  • Can get most of the functionality by running multiple instances of the Woolworths app…

maybe go back to the old days and have one physical card and one app?

    • I'm hoping for a simple solution that works on our phones, as it has to work for my wife. If something isn't 1-3 clicks simple while at the checkout, forget it

      • +1

swiping a card is pretty simple…

if it has to work for your wife, why do you need 2 versions? Dont you have a combined everyday rewards account?

        • Most family's have at least 2 cards + so can use the card offering the most advantage.

    • That stopped working when you need to constantly check the app and boost the promos to get the extra points.

      • They automatically boost now. It's a recent update.

        • +1

Oh I just saw that, still need to open the app for it to boost automatically.

Why do "you' need 2 versions of the everyday app ? You have 1 on your mobile & person no 2 has on their mobile

    • +1

They do targeted deals and bonus points, it’s quite annoying but you do what you gotta do to save the extra $$$$.

  • +2

Your other option is to do what I do on iPhone
Use the Woolworths App (not EDR) but login using your secondary card

You can still access the barcode and see + boost offers in the Woolworths app for the logged in card

  • Wouldn't it be easier for wife to use same card # and get same offers on one account?

Am I missing out due to my ignorance??

    • +1

      Yes - see here.

All of those offers are targeted, if you read the comments you will see people sharing what their targeted offers are.

Woolworths will give you more compelling offers the less and more infrequent you spend, in order to draw you back in. Flybuys is the same.

The game is to have as many accounts as you can be bothered with so you can take advantage of targeted big bonus points deals.

I'm lucky if I can keep one ER app logged in let alone two. Lately every second time I open the damn thing it wants me to log in again.

Have turned to using Catima a lot more these days, for our rewards cards and even gift cards, just manually updating my balance.
The Rewards app is so slow, plus if I forget to open it before checkout and then find I need to log in again it's even worse.

As far as boosting goes, I have the Rewards app logged in to my account, and have the Woolies app logged in to the missus Woolies online account which is linked to her card. From the Woolies app I can then see and boost offers on her card as well.

    • Funny, I've never had the login problem but I've had the problem several times at Westfields where there's zero reception at the checkout, so you need to connect to their free wifi to get into it

I'm running a few duplicate apps through Gspace app, which is kind of a virtual android space. That should work for you. Hope it helps

    • Thanks will try it.

  • Does it have to be the app .. so you can boost points or something ? Or just two cards.
You can just have mutiple cards on like StoCard

Seems like alot of work for little reward & not in the spirit of the Everyday rewards card

  • We have three accounts, each with a mobile attached for that sweet 10% bonus. It's a shame they won't let you just stack mobiles on a single account and get an extra 10% token for each active number, they sort of already do that with their Rewards Plus thing (which for us is worth the price of admission given the bonus points + extra 10% token).

In my case (on iPhone) I'm not aware of an ability to run multiple versions of the app, but I can (and have) just added each card to the digital wallet.

This means I can only log into one account and see the balance and the bonus' on the phone unless I'm logging in and out of the app, but I can very quickly just select a card, tap and get my discount which is what I'm more interested in. Those extra couple of accounts are typically only tapped once a month each for the discount.
