  • I find coffee is also good

    • +3

      Can't tell if serious.

      • Coffee has water in it so it's pretty much health food that hydrates.

  • +21

Recommended dosage for vomiting and diarrhoea:

    Age: Adult
Take in first 6 hours (tablets): 12-20
    Max. per day (tablets): 40

At 40 tablets a day, scientifically speaking you'd be more watermelon than human at that point.

  • +4

It's actually a bit more complicated. Drinking more water (whether mineral, spring, or whatnot) may end up causing problems for you aside from just dehydration because the more water you drink, the more you flush out salts (electrolytes). You need to replenish yourself with electrolytes or oral rehydration salts every now and then even if you don't have diarrhea or vomiting or whatnot.

    • +2

A bit more complicated than what?
"needing to replenish yourself with electrolytes or oral rehydration salts every now and then" is a total myth… If you're eating a normal diet and don't have diarrhoea or vomiting, you're very likely getting more than enough electrolytes from your food.
You MAY only need additional minerals if you're significantly losing them (for one reason or another) and can't replenish them by food alone.

      • As an example, consider the daily recommended intake of potassium. Now go through the potassium content of the food that you eat for a day, week, month. You barely get any potassium. You would need to eat dozens of bananas to get to the recommended daily amount. Same with magnesium, etc.

  • +1

If you’re travelling and get stuck without rehydration salts just mix six teaspoons of sugar and half a teaspoon of salt into a litre bottle of water, shake and sip. Any cafe will have the ingredients.

But it’s also really easy to throw a few sachets (Priceline ones are cheap and come in bulk) into your toiletries bag.

I would not be giving sucralose and/or mannitol to a toddler

      • -2

Why not, and what is your medical training?
        https://www.rch.org.au/kidsinfo/fact_sheets/Dehydration/

Our GP doesn't have an issue.

          • @aldroid: Got it, you're an anti-vaxxer. Good luck with that.

            • @Jerruh: Um yeah, I'm not the one who needs luck. You do realise GP's have zero training in nutrition right?

              • +1

@aldroid: Huh? That's not true, my GP has accreditation from the International Academy of Nutrition Educators. There's other ways GP's can get training in nutrition as part of their CPD although it would vary between practitioners.

                • @muzdiddy: Ok, let me rephrase that; a GP is not required to study nutrition during their time at University in order to become a GP.

              • +2

@aldroid: My GP claims to be a dermatologist.

I’ve tried to suggest the Ponds Institute is not reputable.

WHO recommends no added sugar for children under 2.
Using them as "Treats" is very different to using them for dehydration.

  • Isn't this close to if not all time low? Lowest I've seen is 17 for 20 tablets. This would bring it to 16.8 after cashback. Also great flavour

    • How or when does the cashback work? I signed up with Shopback and then made purchase (click and collect) but nothing happened?

  • +4

if you regularly use electrolyte/hydrating supplements (long distance runners or cyclists etc) then you can buy bulk powder for a lot cheaper eg $20/kg at Bulk Nutrients. However if you want something around 'just in case' then these are convenient.

Also 40 pack orange on sale for $15.30 which works out at 1.7c per tablet cheaper [at Amazon] (https://www.amazon.com.au/Hydralyte-Effervescent-Electrolyte…)

    • CW $23.99 after 30% cashback is $16.79, for 60 pack. But this is only for watermelon flavour.

      • How or when does the cashback work? I signed up with Shopback and then made purchase (click and collect) but nothing happened?

    • $20/kg at Bulk Nutrients.

Looks like closer to $90 there? $23x4 250g packs.

  • Good one, I just bought 10 tablets from Coles for around $10 last week, same watermelon flavor.

  • Reminder that you can die if you drink too much

    • Really? How so? Honest question. I drink this often to improve my liquid absorption.

      • +3

        Drowning

      • Dihydrogen monoxide can be very dangerous. It's full of DHMOs and it's in all water, even the stuff that falls from the sky.

    • Yeah 10 litres

    Just drink Brawndo.

      It's what plants crave!

  • looks like all varieties have now been added on shopback for the cashback

  • Need to find some glucose free electrolytes

  • Thanks for sharing

  • Thanks perfect timing as going overseas next week

  • Lemon lime is my preferred.

Not a fan of orange or black currant and can't image wanting to go passionfruit, pineapple or strawberry.

How does watermelon compare beyond the obvious that it is supposed to be watermelon?

    • Try 1x lemon lime 🍋 and 1x orange 🍊 together with cold water and thank me later for lemon lime and orange 🥳

      • Oh wow why does this sound good! Will give this a try

        • Best stand alone flavors are lemon lime and tropical. The rest are all meh… pineapple, passionfruit punch, peach crush, watermelon, strawberry kiwi, lemonade.

          • @cobknob: I've only tried the orange, its meh, but goes down fine. So this will be fun.

My cashback tracked at 15c. Anyone have similar issues?

    • +2

Mine tracked at 15c too :(

    • +2

"Cashback may initially track lower and will later be adjusted accordingly within 7 business days."

    • +2

      Lol. Same 15c

      • Same . It’s 0.7% standard rate?

        • Same for me as well.

          • @czechboi: $0.15 here too, hopefully it does get auto adjusted….

    • +1

      My shopback, the same

    • +1

Mines still 15c. Might just not collect it if it doesnt change

      • +1

Same here @gotyourback is this a known issue with this promo or should we lodge a miss?

      • +1

I wouldn't bother getting it, the watermelon is pretty gross. Better off getting orange from ALDI.

@gotyourback mine is still 15c too.

      • +1

I just an sms reminder to pick it up.
May be easier to just let it auto cancel.

        Still sitting at 15c.
        @gotyourback, any insight on this?

        • +3

We're aware that some users are experiencing incorrect cashback tracking for certain orders but rest assured that the correct cashback amount should show up in your account within 7 business days.

          • +2

@gotyourback: My order on 03/12 looks like it's still tracked at 15c. Anyone here had their cashback amount updated?

            • @howieyo: Mine still tracked incorrectly. Tomorrow will be 7 business days.

              • @Macbig: Hey! If you don't see the additional amount of Cashback credited in a new entry, do write in to our support [[email protected]] and they will look into this for you

                • @gotyourback: Is it $6.54 that is the correct tracking amount for a $23.99 purchase?

                  • @Moo Deng: Could you drop me a DM with the details of your order and I'll help you to look into it ?

  • Anyone have any recent experience paying with gift cards at CWH and still receiving CB? I know the terms probably say not… but it used to work fine for previous orders placed (although it has been some time that I last placed an order at CWH, hence the reason for asking)

    • +2

I shop regularly with gift cards via TopCashback and ShopBack and it has always tracked/approved. Cashback failed to track using Cashrewards when using gift cards.

  • Everything is mg except Sugar :P

  • +2

Has anyone's cashback amount been corrected yet? Mine is still the sitting at the standard rate.

    • +1

Yeah mine hasn't been corrected either. I put in a claim yesterday.

      • May i know is your claim solved? I lodged mine more than a week ago, still no update yet.

        • I sent an email late last week but haven't heard anything since the initial email which stated that they'd received my ticket and are looking into it.

        • Mine hasn't been solved. Anyone else have any luck?

          • @Ruisu: Same here no luck either. Disappointing.

  • +2

    Really disappointing…

In regards to the query you’ve submitted, just wanted to update you that we have submitted your request to our partner but have yet to receive a status update. As such, please allow us more time for the investigation process.

We will update you as soon as we hear from them. We understand the wait can be frustrating, and we really do appreciate your patience.

Thank you for your endless support and have a great day ahead!

@gotyourback why do you need to submit it to the partner? It tracked fine, the rate was wrong. Surely this is something ShopBack need to fix on their end?

    • Hopefully it gets fixed for you.
Personally for me, i didn't want to entertain this so I opted for a refund of the product.

      • Hey, how did you managed to get a refund?
Have you contacted CWH? I do not see any option to return for refund. Thanks

        • Shopback has this

"Cashback may initially track lower and will later be adjusted accordingly within 7 business days."

So i was hoping it would be resolved by then. I even asked cwh to hold it a bit longer for me.

Given that it wasn't resolved coupled with the non existent support from the shopback team, i just never bothered to pick up the c&c, so I called cwh to cancel + refund.

I got burnt in the past from a non tracked cashback, hence i leave it in "limbo" as c&c.

          • @Ruisu: Smart way to deal with these SB scambags. Unfortunately, I got the order posted.

  • +1

Did anyone get the correct cashback? Raised a dispute and cashback have come back to state that I purchased the incorrect watermelon hydralyte as it was the exclusive size? I followed the link here and the cashback rates was for all hydralyte products?

    • +1

      Same, bloody scammers.
But I bought watermelon, same as on the link. ScammersBack did not even bother replying on my message.

      • Keep hassling them. Got a $12.60 credit applied when I asked them to show me where I breached the t's and c's.

  • +2

Yeah I got the same "we have submitted your request to our partner but have yet to receive a status update".

It has nothing to do with the partner… It tracked, but just at the wrong rate. That seems like a Shopback issue.

@gotyourback would you be able to follow up for us

    • +4

If it is not fixed, ShopBack should be banned from OzB forever.

      • +1

Keep hassling them. Got a $12.60 credit applied when I asked them to show me where I breached the t's and c's.

  • +2

@gotyourback one month later and the correct Cashback still not showing… any chance this can be resolved or provide an explanation as to what going on. Have emailed my screenshots this morning to [[email protected]]. Thanks

    • Need your help to drop me a DM - I'll check on this for you

      • Sent you DM yesterday morning.

    • Same as mine. I sent them a request too over the weekend

      • -1

Thanks! We'll be on it ASAP

        • +6

Hey mate, how is ASAP going? Did you forget about it, or trying to make up another excuse? Why no replies from ShopBack for weeks? Disgusting service.

          • +1

@Sidor: He stopped responding to me after initial contact. Wouldn't expect any help at all from him.

            • @Macbig: What is the next step ?
Has anyone tried to reported ShopBack to ACCC?

              • +1

@Sidor: I would cc some senior managers on your emails to Shopback. Try and look for them on LinkedIn. Angus Muffet is the GM for Australia/NZ. Might take a few attempts of getting his email configuration correct but once you do I'm sure there will be movement on your ticket.

              • +3

@Sidor: If you have a look at gotyourbacks profile and recent comments - you'll see he is very active. Looks like there is a huge issue with Shopback tracking the correct cashback amounts. Temple and Webster and Coles ozbargain offers have been impacted. Sounds like a software defect they are experiencing and are overwhelmed with tickets. Really poor to have an app out that is not fit for use.

  • +2

Only 0.15c cash back issued. Made contact with Shopback over a month ago, still no resolution.

    • +3

Same, we were scammed again by Shopback and CWH.

  • +2

Correct cashback still not tracked for me either. Absolutely horrendous.

    • +2

      Same!!

      • +1

Usually shopback have been pretty good correcting things like this in the past. It's strange they're going silent on this one.
