F these guys. They bang on about it being no subscription, but then make it subscription by stealth, because they stop upgrading the software.
I bought On1 Raw 2024 in about May, then a couple of months later they release 2025 with some decent improvements, but do you get those features through an update if you bought 2024? Nope. They held back features like the powerline removal and then release a whole new version 2/3 of the way though the year.
Android app freezes and crashes (On a Samsung S9). I feel duped.
Buy Affinity instead.
I hear you, it's essentially a quasi-subscription and pretty annoying for anyone that needs to keep up with the latest feature set.
For my own purposes as a hobbyist, I find that it is a reasonable compromise, because I can just buy it every 3 years or so to catch up on new features, but still use it in the interim.
Still annoying though.
Much better pricing than Capture One who lately have been giving the middle finger to anyone not professional (pricing wise)
