      Whilst possible, unless you get the AirPods you will miss out on a lot of functionality.

    This 100%, just get your kid real AirPods (or at least copy fake ones if you cannot afford the real thing). Anything else is going to be weird and uncool regardless of the value or improved feature set.

      The teenager likes the look of the AirPods and does not care about the brand. They do not care of what other people think is cool or not. But thank you for your opinion

        This would be the first teenager I've ever heard of that doesn't care about brand. But if your set on not going AirPods how about the Nothing Buds There's multiple options (including the cheap CMF ones)and they're kind of the android anti apple at the moment.
