Opinions on Kayo Yearly Renewal

Hey all,

Just curious what everyone is doing for Kayo going into 2025…
Have tried a couple of IPTV's through the year but nothing really jumped out to me in terms of service + cost… Also looking for a solution which can be used on Chromecasts, and is simple enough for the parents to use, and isn't tooooo expensive..

Previously been running AFL Membership deals (2023 - Dogs, 2024 - GWS), and just received email for GWS to renew again for loyalty price of $310.
Cannot find the new digital price for GWS membership, but the previous 2 other lowest from here were Brisbane and Essendon which are both $350…

Curious to hear what others are doing as rollover is on 3/1/2025

Thanks !

Edit - Just saw https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/882638 from @mrdravid , so looks like for dual screen, I should keep my $310

Consider what sports you actually want to use Kayo for. I've just cancelled it for the summer as there is nothing I really want to watch on it for the next few months. At $25 a month for 8/9 months it works out cheaper than one of those AFL memberships. Even cheaper if you get the gift cards on sale.

      At $25 a month

      No 4K on that plan

I use for F1, Cricket, AFL and NRL (And womens aswell for most which is nice to see filtering in), and shared between a few people (including the parents)

Although, I did see that 15% off at Costco… hmmm

and shared between a few people

That is against the T&Cs that you agree to.

        • When having a local watch party… wow, nice insinuation!

"and is simple enough for the parents to use"

            🤔

@jv: To set up and host for the family viewing over dinner 😙

              • -1

@Zuelly: Aren't you part of the family?

                • +1

@jv: Yes, but I also don't live with them, so when I come over for the family dinner, they have the stream prepared…

JV, really jumping to conclusions today!
                  Sharpen up champ.

                    JV, really jumping to conclusions

So you aren't part of the same family as your parents.

                    • @jv: I am part of the same family but not part of the same household?

                      • -1

@Zuelly: So you are breaching the T&C's

                        • @jv: I guess so.
Point 20 really got me there…

(Also, time for the Xmas pfp…?)

        • I hope you don’t jaywalk and never recorded tv programs to a VCR.

    • -2

      Correct!

This is up to OP to decide based on whether they need really Kayo or not.

Binge will also be showing AFL next year.

    • +1

If only you read my previous response about the sports that I watch…
Too quick with the fingers today champ.

      • -5

about the sports that I watch…

It's not all about you though…

Most people get Kayo just for AFL/NRL

        • I would also say that subscriptions during Summer would mostly be surrounding cricket?

Also, F1 also has a growing and loyal fanbase, despite the poor timezoning.
Its not like they sell out the the Grand Prix in Melbourne every year in minutes… oh wait

          • -2

@Zuelly: Very small numbers compared to the footy.

            • @jv: Other than overall game statistics, do you have data to back up this comment?

              • @Zuelly:

do you have data to back up this comment?

                They are commercial in confidence…

    • It sounds very much like that the only NRL and AFL games that will be on Binge are the same ones that you could watch Free to Air

“ NRL and AFL footy on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays (simulcast games) during the regular season”

      https://foxtelgroup.com.au/newsroom/binge-to-disrupt-the-str…

      • that you could watch Free to Air

But I'm assuming you can start watching the game from the start and any time, like with Kayo, and also pause, rewind, fast forward…

My team is nearly always on the free to air games.

Binge is $4.99 currently for 12 months if you join today.

It also now includes Sky News….

      • Doesn’t include saturdays where kayo / foxtel is exclusive for the first 8 rounds for afl. I miss the tennis and soccer on kayo before they got rid of bein.

    • You clearly didn’t read Zuelly’s T’s & C’s.

I just cancelled (wont be using it until footy is back), and it offered $15 off for 6 months during the process. May be targetted, but a friend also got the discount. See what pops up when you try cancel your sub.

    • They offered me $2 off a month for 3 months, it actually feels like an insult.

      • +1

EFC as in Essendon? Take the wins where you can mate…
        (sorry)

        • +2

EFC as in Everton “Football” Club….probably better off as an Bombers fan if I’m honest

  • +1

i just went to cancel and got offered $15 a month for 4 months.

  • +1

CommBank yello are offering $15 for 12 months for some customers. If you’re a cba customer might be worth checking out.

    • Yep, was going to suggest this as I saw it pop up on my app

    • Yep this is the deal im on

    • I don’t have the offer on mine but my husband does. I’m currently on the offer from last year where they had $15 a month off. I’ll cancel mine next week after the last F1 race and then will sign up using his offer just before it expires. I only watch F1 on there so no worth cancelling even if it is only for a month.
