Still overpriced for a plain t-shirt

I agree. Teepublic is having a 35% off sale for all its printed merch. $21 for a graphic tee is great value

      https://www.teepublic.com/

      • what's the quality like?

        • Mine arrived today. They use "Gildan Softstyle" blanks. Seems quite good to be honest, on par with uniqlo for sure, slightly thinner than the new ascolor maybe, and I'd be buying them again soon. They're not as thick and heavy as the original ascolor from 5yrs ago.

Agreed and the quality has dropped since they moved their manufacturing abroad a few years back. That’s taken a massive hit and the prices remained the same

      • Where do you source quality t shirts nowadays?

Know of any better options for tall tees?

Yet to find anything better so please let us know what you suggest

Dayum, hate when companies stagger their sales by offering lower discounts on preceding days with the final day featuring best sales and discounts. Already dropped $250 + with this mob the other day and now this!

    • It is a lack of respect for customers!

    • +3

Buying early for a slightly less discount guarantees you get the sizes and styles you want. Waiting for the final sale typically reduces your options.

I fell for the same trick at LSKD. Ordered last Monday, then by Thursday they offered an additional 20% off 😑

Messaged them and they won't refund price diff

      • I was the same as you, but that being said all of the stuff that had the really sharp pricing was gone by the time they added the extra 20%, so I still feel like I came out in front than if I waited.

    • Slap in the face really, not somewhere I will be happy to give repeat business to anymore

It seems like the right way of managing your sales targets, discounts and profits.

If you are not hitting the turnover targets, then you try tweaking discounts deeper to drive the volume uplift right?
Seems like the right thing to do as a retailer. Going deeper early runs risk of stock outs early and then wondering how much margin you could have made instead. Why work harder, work smarter.

For AS Colour, I found their Ebay on standard pricing + delivery charges to be cheaper than their 30% off sale so far, the 40% off sale would end up being marginally cheaper (Del to sydney).

      • You got a link to their ebay store? Haven't had any luck finding it.

        • +5

Yup it is actually not under their name, I think it might be a reseller or something but I used them recently whilst comparing certain number of shirts including delivery vs their website for the "5026" shirts, ending up being cheaper via eBay on like for like colours, size, QTY I wanted.

    • It's called Cyber Monday.

    excessive shipping costs

    • Yeah kills the extra discount, 30% off with free postage was much better

  • +2

I don't know what has changed in their manufacturing process, but I remember the tshirts being much better quality roughly 1-2 years ago. I find the quality quite low now, they seem thin and don't last long.

    • which of their tshirts are you referring to?

  • Beware their returns policy https://www.ascolour.com.au/returns "Sale items are not eligible for exchange or credit.", I bought some pants that were too big and need to exchange, and am fearing I am SOL. I have reached out to customer support to see if I've interpreted it correctly.

I am yet to check if this is legal under the ACCC

    • +4

Change of mind returns have always been at retailer discretion. The law is that a product must be faulty or not as described to be returned.

Last week I was able to exchange t-shirts for a different colour due to change of mind. No questions asked.
