    • Good find… I am not an Fan expert, but Fanco fans are suppose to be quiet in operation. There are so many options in the market ..

I replaced all the fans in my house with martecs (not this model but a ceiling fan with light). Every single one of them needed and be fixed under warranty - they dropped to low speed only. They are slow again now, out of warranty. One has died completely. They are quiet but move very little air (even when working properly) and I have pedestal fans for additional cooling.
Need to replace them but can't believe fans can be this bad and don't want to waste my money again.
Was recommended martec as a good brand but hasn't matched my experience

      • will avoid martec, thanks for that

      • Do they have DC or AC motors? I'd expect the DC ones to fail relatively quickly compared to the AC types because of the electronics failing in the AC to DC converter and control circuits. I have an old AC motor fan in the master bedroom that was installed soon after moving into this house 40 years ago and it's still going stong. Simple AC motor and control, not much to go wrong.

        • I’m an EE but I don’t have experience with pulling alert ceiling fans. Agree though in general, the DC converters are another step in the chain of things that can fail. Less to go wrong, the better.

I have AC fans in our house, and in our old house. They are very quiet. I’m not understanding that this is a problem that needs fixed. But we only use them on hot days.

Having said that, ours are cheap builders stock ones, I’d like to replace them with ones they move more air.

  • Get the Aldi ones for$149. Includes a 3 year in home warranty.

    • Any links? I cant find them

        • I seen some posts from a while ago..
I thought he meant a recent sale? Or its still valid?
