I see people selling gift cards of some pretty exorbitant amounts sometimes over on the classifieds.
Just wondering how people make money on this / get access to them in the first place?

I think it’s more likely that people bought discounted gift cards through a promotion to earn credit cards and now selling them at cost.
Could be as well, I'm sure there are many reasons people are flipping them.

They either don't send it or sell the same gift card to multiple people. First to redeem wins, loser posts a gift card horror story thread and bikies get a mention.
There are various ways people can get discounted gift cards legally which may not always be publicly available and then either sell them at cost (whilst earning credit card points) or at profit.
Can be through work, online gaming, credit card redemptions, auctions, etc etc
The confusing part is why people bother with the hassle and risk when people are selling them at 5% discount, and/or selling low value ($20) gc.
But it's one of those questions like why do some people piss on the floor at the urinals, maybe people are just odd.
Same you reason you buy anything of classifieds or marketplace or gumtree. It's all subjective and relative.

They're technically not supposed to making a profit off of it but they can. I would say the amounts is more reasonable than you expect.
I know of places that offer much much muucch more in terms of amounts for much cheaper. Those are the real dodgy ones and so far, it hasn't reached ozb classified at least from my personal experiences.
