    Reviews aren’t great

  • How wobbly/stable is this desk?

  • +4

Rated for only 50kg, isn't that too low?
1 lean on it by mistake will be the end of it

    • The rating is more for the tiny motor to propelled up down.
While not in motion they usually are ok within reason

A number of the reviewers seem to have having problems getting it up. That does happen more with age (at least, so I've been told), but it seems their desks are not that old…

    This is not sturdy

Joiner installer here, i do installation of thoundsand of sit stand desk for office in Canberra. The reason these have problem getting up is they are using a single motor. IF you looks at the photo you will see a thin meta bar crossing between the 2 legs, thats a set up for one motor which is old / oudated standard like decade ago. Modern sit stand desk will not have these thin metal bar between the 2 legs anymore, both legs will its own motors, they will have a bridge for stablity and a power box between the legs.

    • Can it be hacks and make to manual ?

      • +3

dont think so, unless your tech savvy enough to overdrive the controller. AND able to fabricate your own manual handle bar that directly connect to the metal bar's motor. Then you would still have to modify the metal bar motor cuz it is set up with electrical usage. Not worth your time when you can just buy the entire modern frame for 300 bucks or less.

      • Use your arm when lifting up.

      Thanks for the info

    • Thanks for the info. Was about to buy but knew the price was too good to be true so lucky i check the comments

    • Any recommendations? Looking for a sit stand desk.

    • My higher priced twin model tends to have a problem where the two legs don't have a cross brace near the bottom,

So if they get cms too close together or too far apart the motor gets resistance, gives a error rolls back to position until you jiggle the legs straight enough to allow go up/down

    • Any suggestions on a new cheap type close to this price ?

      • probably not, as cheap as this , this is the one.

    • It's not so much about "modern" or not. Single and Dual motor setups both have their place. A good single motor desk will work just as well as a dual-motor, although normally with a lower load limit (but not 50kg like this apparently has). I've owned and used multiple single motor setups (on one right now) and I've never had any problems with them - but I'm also not buying the cheapest one I can find…

  • Yeah dont do it - the design looks very similar to a model i just returned 3 days ago! It has a single motor, with these hex steel poles that connect to the gear in each leg> its just not very powerful and you can kind of here the plastic/metal whining. My controller gave out> but i'm pretty sure the motor would have soon to! Just poor quality!

Also any desk without programmable preset heights is gonna get real tiresome, real quick:

    • you can’t get the right height dialed in for reliable ergonomics each time you switch heights (lots of faffing around, which will deter you from changing from sit to sand and vice versa)

    • preset heights let you press a button then step away to go to the loo, stretch, make a cuppa etc then come back and its ready to go at the perfect height.

  • terrible reviews

  • I think it was the "Matrix" sit/stand I got from Officeworks 6+ months ago and it hasn't skipped a beat. Very sturdy, good weight capacity, motor works well and was the best value I could find anywhere at that point (1500mm was ~$400 from memory).

  • any other better option elsewhere in such low price range?

  • doesn't go low enough for me
