What sort of cars have 24v socket? Bus or truck ?

    • Campervan :)

      • Seems specific/more details required

        • They should lookup Dr Google.

  • It’s like trying to get the $5 back that you lent to your stingy friend:
    You - “Ai”
    Him - “NOPE”

  • Any recommendations for a laptop charger(80 - 100w) in similar form factor?

It's interesting that people are not comfortable buying a no-name wall charger but they are happy to keep one plugged in to their cars.

    • There's only named products in this deal. It's a requirement set by Amazon.

      • You perfectly understand what "no-name" means. It's something that was manufactured by a random factory with minimal to none QA, then someone slaps a sticker that says QETHRETGKERTD or whatever on it before listed on Amazon/eBay/etc.

By your logic Heymix is a "named" product too.

        • Cool you're learning what OEM and ODM means 👏👏👏

          • @Clear: Thanks. You should learn them, too.

@bio: I was thinking of going to one of the Heymix suppliers and getting my own brand of chargers to sell on Amazon. I think Clearfire is a good name.

              • @Clear: Great idea. Make sure that you use SureFire batteries in your powerbanks and you're done.

From a risk perspective, those two are hugely different scenarios.
Typically the car charger converts ~12V to 5V, which is a very common and generally pretty safe since the voltage drop is small. The max output if shorted is ~135W or so (13.5V x 10A) before the car fuse is blown.
A wall charger on the other hand converts 230 VAC to 5V, a huge change. If this is shorted due to a dodgy charger, the output becomes ~2300W (230V x 10A), which is plenty for causing fires very quickly. So higher risk + much higher consequence than the car charger.

      • Sure, but 135W (or even the 65W it is rated to) is sufficient to overheat and cause a fire. Even actual cigarette lighters are known to have exploded.

    • Its plugged in ones car but un-powered when ignition is off, well really not leaving pluuged unsupervised which one would do with a home charger

      • It is always powered in some cars.

  • Thanks op grabbed one

  • Is this PD charger that can charge Surface Pro?

I bought this but a bit too thick to fit into the lighter port inside the storage box.

It always has been. Did you redeem the coupon?

      • Sorry, slow brain. Ordered and thank you!

  • Jumped on this so quick I got it without cable, but arrived today and I can’t complain.

  • I bought this one: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0C9TF69W5
which was listed as AINOPE USB-A to USB-C 3m 2 Pack - $8.22 in OP above

It is listed on Amazon as AINOPE 2-Pack USB C Cable 10ft, 3.1A USB C Charger Cable Fast Charging, Right Angle Durable Nylon Braided

I recieved 2x USB-C to USB-C cables (one side right angled) today from Amazon.

The Amazon page has plenty of pics up top with a USB-A end, but down bottom has pics with USB-C both ends and even says this right at the bottom of listing:

    Important Note Before Purchase
This is Type-C to Type-C cable. Not USB-A or Lighting connector. It can compatible almost USB-C devices

Pretty inconsistent listing with the text and images. You could still get a refund or credit based on those with Amazon if you wanted to.

      • yeah of course, Amazon is good that way. It's not what I wanted, but still very useful to have, so I'm keeping. Thanks for the post, it was a good price!
