Lindeman's Porphyry Rouge
'Porphyry' was the name given to one of Australia's first vineyards, planted in 1838 by pioneer settler Dr. Henry Carmichael who purchased land in the Hunter Valley district of New South Wales. In about 1900 the property was acquired by the Lindeman family. The vineyard's name has been preserved by Lindeman's Porphyry wines which is synonymous with a fruity, sweet, luscious wine style offering excellent value for money. Porphyry Rouge is made from several grape varieties sourced from diverse vineyard regions and blended to attain a consistent standard of quality, flavour and sweetness.
Colour - A dark red in colour.
Nose - The bouquet is rich and fragrant showing ripe raspberry and strawberry fruit characters with deeper plum nuances.
Palate - The palate has rich, luscious, red fruit flavours and is sweet, but balanced with crisp acidity. The wine finishes clean and fresh with lingering sweet red fruit flavours.
Vintage Conditions - The Lindeman's Porphyry Rouge is a non-vintage wine, which blends different vintages to maintain consistency of style.
