I own this and wouldn't recommend it. The straps are quite uncomfortable.
Shutup Jesus
Agree, the Hurricanes are the basic model, they don't have any padding under the straps or plastic buckles, which tends to get irritating.
I think merrell sandals have been most comfortable and durable. I got the brown leather merrells.
Can I walk on water with this?
Yes
How beautiful are the feet of those who… wear teva shoes
I got these last time they were one sale. I still don't know when or where to wear them..
Try at the next bar mitzvah
With socks
Just wear on a day walk. Or hiking.
Are they really worth this price . Thanks
yes!
good price but available colors didn't thrill me (best looking was $104 for US 9) and my memory of this style of tevas is very sweaty soles. But also being able to walk all day in them without blisters which is pretty amazing.
A bunch of plastic and nylon is $100? why tf is this so expensive.
My thoughts exactly, $150 rrp sandals….
Agree the RRP is stupid, but worth considering at half price. I have found tevas to be incredibly comfortable for all day walking.
I've owned a set of Columbia sandals and Merrell hiking sandals. With both of them, the straps ended up coming off the base of the sandal after a couple of years of light use (just used them on holidays etc.). Tevas are manufactured to be much more durable and comfortable. See below video from Rose Anvil, who has a great channel where he cuts shoes in halve and talks about how they are constructed.

In the video he cuts into an admittedly different model of Teva sandal, but also cuts into a bunch of cheaper sandals that look similar. From the video you can get an idea of why Tevas cost more. I'm not saying that it is worth $100, but I can tell you that they are definitely the most comfortable sandal I've ever worn. Hopefully, they will last as well.
With regard to an earlier poster saying that the straps are uncomfortable, I found the same initially, but after adjusting the straps and wearing them more, that problem has gone away for me.
Not trying to convince anyone, but when I was doing research into my next sandal, it seemed like a decent buy (when they are on sale). Unfortunately, I have already bought mine prior to this sale.
The same can be said of pretty much any pair of sneakers… The materials cost is next to nothing.
Only these will last ten or more years.
Yeah, but your virginity will remain unthreatened stomping around in these badboys.
why tf is this so expensive.
I have owned a pair of these for a good 15 years. At full price that is the same as a pair of thongs per year. You can't do decent walks in thongs. I've also owned cheaper "hiking sandals" that you would be lucky to get a couple of years out of.
They are quality so you get what you are paying for. But unless you are into bush walks in summer, then no not worth it.
The regular ones are $62.99 on Amazon atm too: https://amzn.asia/d/hsvcRHp
Bought regular one for $19.99 a few years ago from HYPE DC
Same, still rocking them.
Haha me too. Hardly wear them
It should be a crime to wear these
I'll give ya $10
Tell us when Keen on sales, please.
To people freaking about the price. I have a pair of Teva zymics. The only reason I spent (what I consider to be) stupid amounts of money on a pair of shoes is because my feet had been playing up and normal shoes made tham worse. I have had these a couple summers now and wear them every day in the hot months. They are still in great condition and also probably the most comfortable pair of sandals I have ever owned.
So yeah idk. Different strokes. All I can say is I was really impressed with the pair I own and would definitely buy again. They really are great quality
Bought them to try and can vouch for them. Extremely comfortable and been rock solid and many years
Yeppppp. Tried them and they are the most comfy sandals ive ever worn. These will be my second pair
Wore these for a week of 15k+ step days in Malaysia, worth every cent. Feet were the only thing that wasn't sore lol
It's my last day in Malaysia with Teva's and I agree. Only downside is the strap tan
How's the fit, true to size?
I'm a US 10 normally, got a US 9 for these. I tried on at anaconda first then ordered on Amazon (last year)
I find it to be true to my sneaker sizing
I still have a pair of Tevas from 1998, they did the Annapurna circuit including about 500M over snow as I couldn't be bothered to take them off. So yes, the complete route with a pair of boots I never used…
The straps are initially a bit hard on the skin but you get used to them and then never want to go back to boots etc. I now have 4 pairs I use depending on use etc.
Apart from their longevity one significant advantage as you age often your feet swell - easy to adjust straps really help.
Downside - your feet will probably sweat/smell but that's an individual thing
Edit - at least for my versions the straps actually go through the sole and under the foot so can't come unglued like many cheaper versions do
have been wearing these for a few years, can recommend, feels more secure than slides or flip flops.
Great for quick drives to the groceries when I can't be bothered putting on socks and shoes. These feel infinitely more secure vs normal sandals for driving.
You ever hear of thongs?
Did you miss the "more secure" part?
What sort of a sissy can't drive a car without securely fastened footwear? You could always take them off…
@Ham Dragon: Haha lame attempt at trying to recover from illiteracy :)
@rumblytangara: Sandals aren't thongs mate.
Don't have these particular Teva sandals but I usually have to wear orthotics. I can wear my Teva sandals for hours no problems. They are my footwear of choice these days.
These are great, wore these the whole time for a long trip around SE Asia.
I have been a known cheater throughout my marriage. Ever since my wife bought me these, I have not cheated since.
This comment was a helpful prophylactic
Thats nice of her to help your transition.
Hope you like your Christmas skorts
Pair of sandals from target feel fine
If only you could see the light :')
Anti-Semite
They comfy and look good to my opinion but the pair I've got few months ago started falling apart where the strap meets the sole.
Massive cracks and the glue would start failing too.. my partners tho been fine, similar model and age.
Birkenstok lasted me nearly 5 years, worn in any weather and never had a problem (on top of being way less smell prone than tiva).
I wouldn't risk itUnfortunately the Teva's I've owned all develop this issue - sooner or later.
The solution: get someone to repair the straps, preferably before they fall apart - this ensures they last much longer. This provides reinforcing for them, as the factory glue fails quickly.
I've tried Birkenstocks and generally hated them. Okay for dry, but if it's raining then the footbed is like walking on an oil slick.
I've been out in all sorts of conditions in Tevas (typhoons and sea cliffs, Nepal). I would never take Birkenstocks out of the city. I ended up just tossing them out.
I never had problems with that and used them several summers in and out of water as well.
Consider tho I have a massive foot so plenty of grip lol.
To each his own hey
Ew, Brotha, Ew! What's That? What's that Brothaaaa?
Good option.
My go to is the Teva Meacham.
Quite similar, but the bottom of the sole is their "spider grip" which provides excellent traction and grip on almost every surface.
Excellent for travelling.
And $83 at the moment.

I wore Tevas for years, I must have had about five pairs over time. They were brilliant. This time when I went to replace them several months ago, they were crap. The Velcro was just glued onto the straps, no stitching, and I'm sure would peel off eventually. They were stiff and uncomfortable, the sole was a few millimetres shorter than the ones they were replacing, so they were trying to cut costs there. I honestly thought I'd been given a Chinese knockoff so I checked and no this was the original. Sent them back and bought a pair of Keenes instead and very happy with them. They are like the Tevas of old.
As worn by Jesus himself.
