    This is a different SKU to the $81 deal and was $86 at than time. I'm sure it won't make a difference to most, but those like me who have this exact SKU and want to add new memory are grateful for this deal.

    With the way that Corsair sets their timings, it's quite possible that the Gskill Ripjaw has the same hynix die as the Corsair Vengeance LPX.

        It appears so, or at least for the ddr4 generation that is, I can't confirm that it carries over to ddr5.

        I imagine it's so that they can put their product on more associated motherboard RAM compatibility sheets, as well as there being less of a chance that the buyers will return it due to the XMP setting not working off the bat.
