Eset Internet Security 5 Devices / 1 Year Download for €7,99 (~A$13) @ MediaMarkt.de (Germany Address Required)

80

I purchased this about a week ago and sucessfully added the license to an expired Australian trial account. Worked fine. The licence allows you to download either Internet security or Nod32 apps which is good. No VPN required

Credit must be given to original post on Malwaretips forum:

Please note that you will need to put in some random German address to process the sale. I had no problems with Paypal, but yesterday someone in the link above has indicated that they were having issues with processing.

I hope this post may be helpful to ESET fans who find that current license prices are too high for home users here in Australia.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2024

  • Eset or windows defender? Hmmm.

    Thanks

    • +3

Windows defender is enough for most people.

It detects most known malware, and has an acceptable heuristics engine.

Nod32 and BitDefender in my line of work, have proven to have superior heuristics, still detecting RATs as deep as 3x obfuscated.

That said, unless you're a specific target of interest, the odds of you hitting that is slim.

      So your call.

Defender is enough for the vast majority. But anyone who claims its the best doesnt do malware analysis…

      • And if someone was sailing the seas..? Still Defender, or?

When sailing, if one intends to have windows aboard their ship, one should be sure to bring onboard a VirtualBOX, stocked with the finest Debian one can scrounge, and space for spoils.

After a brush with the east India trading company, the quartermaster should only distribute to the crew items theyve already inspected, within their box. To ensure no cursed objects reach the men.

      • I remember when my worked used bitdefender years ago, and during the daily scheduled scans, it'll lag the computer lol

Yet these days its one of the lightest.

Always nice when software improves, not enshitifies itself.

I agree with your comments above.
I must say the NOD32 Antivirus App is like a breath of fresh air in terms of getting out your way: No nag screens or browser extensions. Nice and clean.

  • I get free codes from telegram groups every month.
    $0/year
