  • Keen, but no stock.

How was it OOS in 7 minutes? Was it even in stock to begin with?

  • OP no deal, it's out of stock

  • Hmm, how a deal with no stock get approved!?

Looks like no stock. As an alternative for some, this isn't far off for those who can also use the gift card: https://www.domayne.com.au/tcl-85-inch-c855-4k-premium-qd-mi…

The same price as essentially everywhere else but with 10% in eGift cards included like what HN offered last month.

    • Its showing $199 for delivery making it approx $3000 excluding the gift card.

  • This tv or the same size hisense U8?

    • If the Hisense is 85inch then yes

    • 85U8NAU has eARC on one of its HDMI 2.1 FRL port, means you may lose a perfectly good port to use with PS5, Xbox SX or gaming PC. This is because only higher-end soundbars or AV receivers would support HDMI 2.1 FRL passthrough.

      https://hisense.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/85U8NAU-Co…

TCL on the other hand has eARC on HDMI 2.0 ports and leave HDMI 2.1 FRL ports alone for years.

Also Hisense uses VIDAA U7, not Android/Google TV. FYI. This can be a good or bad thing depends on how you use the TV.

Is it just me or it's really hard to find stock for 85U8NAU? TCL 85C855 is very available across retailers.

      • I find it opposite, have to wait till Jan 25 for c855

        • HN and JB both pulled their listing for 85U8NAU so likely the same OOS reason.

  • Damn already out of stock. Surely jbhifi would match it.

    • I tried online and they said they wouldn't price match Costco.

  • Jb hi fi wouldnt price match but managed to get TGG online to price match with free delivery. Needed to send a photo of my costco membership though.

  • What's Premium about this TV?

    • Best bang for buck Mini LED money can buy. Having said that, it isn’t without its flaws. Like Hisense, there’s just something off about them if you’re coming from the big 3 so buyer beware.

      • Best bang for buck Mini LED money can buy

That makes it a good deal, but not premium.

Definitely not a premium product by any means. They’re plagued with software problems, questionable build quality, strange menu’s, odd spelling and grammar, make weird sounds, local dimming issues, black crush, clipping, banding, the list goes on. You’ll know once you own one. If you can look past all that, it’s worth the money. I tried to like it but sold it straight away. If you’ve ever owned flagships from the big 3, you’ll know what I mean almost instantly. There’s just something not right.

          • @Maths Debater: Youre making me question my choice in putting one on order today, although at $2350 delivered, maybe its not too bad?

            • +2

@tcommy79: This is coming from a pedantic videophile, I’m sure you’ll be very happy with it.

98 inch c855 is the one

    • 98" model would double the price even with BFCM offers.

It's about a third larger in surface area, though.

Hisense's 98" and 100" seems to be cheaper, but it's U7NAU/U7HAU not U8NAU so not a direct comparison with C855 but rather with C755.

  • Excellent price.

  • Got them to price match costco but no stock until Jan, I'll just wait it out for boxing day etc

    • +1

I was told by GG that if they dont have stock at boxing day, they wont be dropping the price for it. JB also didnt have stock. I have to wait till January after putting one on order yesterday. Go to GG, I got one yesterday for $2350 delivered (with the wait).

      • Wow How'd you manage that? Any chance of a order confirmation to see if it'll make it easier for them to match?
