Haven't seen the latest 3rd Gen full featured model (3200N+) go <$800 before, definite bargain if you don't mind the colour.

Other colours show "out of stock" on this listing, but in stock on the non-promo listings. I suspect they want to clear out the Sky Blue colour for the new Navy colour, so don't get your hopes up for other colours to apply.

Personally, I went with the Amazon AU listing for the Flame Red and used Cashrewards' 10% cashback on Home Improvement today:
https://www.amazon.com.au/Weber-Family-Premium-Gas-Q3200N/dp…?

Should bring it down to ~$730 after cashback.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2024

as a complete BBQ novice, is this worth to use on the balcony of an apartment?

    • +4

Yes, but how many do you plan to cook for? You could likely get by just as well with a smaller model (Q1200 or Q2200) to save space on your balcony.

      • Ah that's true. Just for 2. Thanks I'll keep an eye out for a smaller sized model.

        • The new Q1200N (Baby Q) has loads of cooking space. Only time I want more is if I'm doing a big roast with veggies etc all at the same time. Can roast two fairly good size chickens in the Q1200N.

90% of the time the baby is plenty for a couple or small family.

I still want this for those other times though :)

    This is a great price.

  • any accessories that people would recommend for these? I've got the 2600N+ from the myer deal a few weeks ago and have the flat plate in my ebay cart right now. Wondering if there's anything else worth getting

The first things I bought for mine, were a BBQ cover and a grill brush.

Ive also found that if you change the hotplates often, it helps to have a hot plate bag for storage.

      I would say nothing.
Grill brush and scraper much cheaper at Bunnings.
Save your cash for something else.
I've tried basically all accessories and I just stick to the default grill.

The cover for the plate in the other reply is a good idea tho.

  • Curious what casual Weber owners think specifically sets the brand apart from cheaper competitors (and mass market gas grills at say Bunnings)?

I’m also new to BBQ and I understand charcoal vs gas categories, but wondering if it’s worth spending more for Weber over other gas options. Would be getting one of the smaller ones as it’s just me and my wife.

They are built to last… well my 1st gen Weber Q is still going strong since I bought ten years ago from memory.

My dad has gone through four Bunnings style BBQs already. My BIL has gone through two.

And to be frank… it’s not that much more for the Family Q.

Never owned a BBQ as good as these.

Part of that may be the change in cooking technique. Never had a hooded BBQ before, and to me seems that cooking top down produces much better results than an open grill.

There are, of course, other BBQ's that cook this way. I haven't been happier with any other BBQ I've owned though.

I bought mine just over ten years ago. Aside from changing the AA battery in the ignitor (twice) and the grills last year, it's had no maintenance other than the usual scrape of the bottom box and occasional lid clean :D

I originally was going to spend $200 on a Bunning/Kmart/Whatever 4 burner, but ended up with the Weber Q2200 and haven't looked back.
If you like roasts then the trivet and trays are a good buy - I use mine at least once a month for a lamb/pork/chicken roast with veges/potatoes etc.

Customer service. I had an issue, probably because of my lack of care, with the ignitor.
I rang the local weber shop and they said they had one in
I took the old one to make sure it was the right part, he put the new one on the counter and said "thanks enjoy your day"
What, free ? yea mate all good.
The thing was about 5 to 6 years old at that point (from memory) but at least deffo out of warranty

You get what you pay for. I have had similar customer service experiences with Dyson as well

As for the BBQ itself, it just does a bloody good job at what it's built for.
Will other do just as good ? No idea i've never owned any but maybe

    • I prefer charcoal but this thing is just so easy so we have both. Push button start, it is essentially built like a funnel down to a waste tray, the plastic and aluminium is fairly rust proof on the coast. This model fits a 12 inch skillet for a roast chook or onions or griddle cooking. Just turn gas, turn dial, push button and listen for light up sound. Let it pre heat with the lid down for 10 mins for steak. If any complaint it is heating power but you just need to give it pre hearing time for high temp stuff - allow time for varied cooking temps in sequence. The lid down traps some heat but also some grill smoke which flavours the food. Brush grate before food, brush after. We turn off gas then dial and walk away with our food cooked.

  • Thanks OP. Was waiting for a deal on this. Don't care about the colour.

  • Bought one thanks for sharing! I have been looking at them for a while $899 down to $709 with the ebay offer was enough for me to push the button.

  • Has anyone seen a similar deal for the NG version?

  • Is that the right cover for this one?
