    desky/omnidesk etc is usually about a 50-100% premium over non branded/IKEA etc. apart from custom accessories (at a significant premium to generic ebay/amazon) can anyone who's had both comment on any differences in quality?

    • I doubt anyone can compare with IKEA for quality/warranty at similar price range

      Just DIY it yourself, legs without a tabletop with a dual motor can be gotten for under $300 and a hardwood tabletop for $150-$300 depending on what you get. Will be better quality and half the price of any of these brands.

      All you need to know is how to use a drill and a screwdriver.

      • I repurposed a bit of left over kitchen benchtop from a reno on a sit stand frame for my current desk. people always rave about desky/omnidesk etc so I've always wondered what I'm missing out on.

      Hi May4th,

      Thanks for taking an interest in our products, below are some points on things to consider and what we focus on at Desky;

      We have sampled hundreds of manufacturer's and settled on the highest quality linear actuator motor, the main thing people need to compare and consider is that the stability comes from the design of the leg, our leg columns go from wide to skinny which is the optimal design to keep the weight lower to the ground, this ensures the desk is very stable.

      The main thing to look at between models / competitors is the design of leg they've chosen, check the specifications and see what the weight is. Cheaper desk models will use cheaper materials causing stability to be worse.

      The two types are single motor and of course dual motor systems, differences to look for when doing your research:
      * Height Range
      * Warranty
      * Capacity
      * Capabilities (such as what can the hand controller be programmed to do)

      The most crucial thing to check is knowing your height range, there's no point getting a desk if it's not ergonomically correct. Our dual range has a height range of 60-125cm making this perfect for all heights!

      We hope this helps :)

      • thanks for the response, that's fair and I've heard nothing but good things about your desks

    Maybe put the title with the price after deducting 150, most ppl will think its gone down to 150 from 705.

  • The desk itself is good and solid. A little annoyed to have a DESKY logo stamped prominently on the top surface on the corner of the desk.
    Not sure if they still do this, I bought one with bamboo top in December 2020. None of the promotional pictures on the website had a logo. Just annoying that they weren’t up front about that, but couldn’t be bothered dealing with a return process for cosmetics.

    • Hi, thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback regarding the Desky Logo Stamp.

      We appreciate your input and want to assure you that we have not engaged in such practices for quite some time.

      Your satisfaction is important to us, and we are committed to maintaining the highest standards.

      If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know. We're here to help.

    These lifting desk are usually Chinese copy cat version of industry leader Linak. The company who made these are usually jiecang or rip off copy version of JieCang lifting column. The quality is usually inferior to Linak version, however they are fine for domestic use.

    The best stability, quality and ease of after sale service still goes to Ikea Idasen, which uses Linak Column and controller. You also can't fault Ikea after sale service with very long warranty period.

    • Do you have any links for that?

    this market is so saturated, these guys are in Dara QLD very mass market china made desks like all the rest. buy a frame for $200 from amazon and a table top from bunnings and you're sorted. max $350… Sorry no deal
