Where is the Lexar rep to tell us to HODL?!
When did I ever tell people to hold?
last year I was telling people to buy whatever, may it be samsung wd or any brand I don't care.
And some smart guy told me that I'm use scare tactics, and post some articles from internet to prove me wrong.I think price will eventually fall, but I don't see that happen in Q1 2025.
if you gonna hold just hold till Q2 next year and see what happens.
Otherwise this is as far as I can go.Most current stock are all sold out, but don't worry too much.
I brought in some NQ790 4tb, and will run promo to drive price down to 285-289 inc retail ish (depending on exchange rate)
There will be very small quantity of NM as well. Also 1t and 2t, nm620, gen5 ssd and all Dram will be on special for Christmas as well.
For next year, just @ me whenver, let's figure out what we run next year.I was going to run 8tb as well, but stock was in shortage.
I promised guys here i will do around 100dollars per tb on 8tb drives retail, so I definately will make that happen when I have stock to play with.Haha sorry mate - was just having a laugh! Appreciate all the deals you do for the OzBargain crew!
I know, this is actually my personal account.
I have been here for a logn time.
Will bring more deals in while I'm still in Lexar
Hmmmm I think he's confusing when you said "hold my beer" with "hodl"
But you're not gonna "hold my beer" on your own sale lol so it was a bad time for corgi to say it

Great price for a great drive. ATL?
was lower last year, I think sub $250
Was around $227 last October.
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/808011How I long for those days.
People in that thread were really saying HOLD @ $230… Lol.
"Add to cart" does not work for me. I tried different browsers.
I cant even add it to cart though?
Me either
probably already sold out
Thought it was just me that couldn't add to cart anymore. I could add to cart earlier but can't now
Just wondering, are the sub components still retained as early reviews?
Sold out already? I keep clicking add to cart but nothing happens.
Yeah same on my end too.
OOS
Also can't add to cart :(
Might have been price error - it's back on the site with different URL, but at $380
not an error, this similar deal already been posted 3 times.
299 inc ish is correct promo price, usually go for around 380.That 20 dollar something off is a Kogan thing, has nothing to do with me.
God damn. Missed it.
To everyone who bought it: A firmware update was recently released. It has improved my SSD's temperature and apparently increased the random write speed (the original firmware had quite slow random write speeds).
Nice: is that every NM790, or just certain capacities?
I believe it is for all capacities. That firmware number will be different though, but should still have firmware update for your drive.
The firmware update process is really terrible with these drives. It runs the update, but after a reboot the drive didn't update. Sometimes you get an error code that means absolutely nothing to the end user.
I ended up having to update the drive via a bootable USB Windows 10.
I forgot to link my comment in another NM790 post https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15960816/redir
"Also FYI: Lexar diskmaster latest version 1.1.4 does not work on Windows 11 for some reason, only on Windows 10. I had to use rufus to make a Windows 10 Windoes To Go drive in order to update the firmware"
Yeah the software is pretty bad
but after a reboot the drive didn't update
The updater specifically tells you that you need to shutdown and power off, because a reboot will not apply the new firmware to the drive.
For those who missed out, you can get it for $284
Finally, the best SSD is back on sale.
Already have two of these, but one more can't hurt?
