Got a jb gift card from this. Looks like its actually a debit card you need to add to your phone's wallet for store purchases or for online purchases enter the card number cvv etc. Which means for online you cannot pay using the gift card + your own card.
I guess you could buy a JB Hi-Fi gift card using the Special card first.
this offer didn't work for me last time. Special wouldn't accept my Commbank card. It would take the order, charge my account, then refund. not sure if others experienced.

Same here, this special gift card site never worked with my commbank debit card, tried numerous time each time this yellow offer came up.
Did you have the same problem as brags - they charge you then refund? Or did have the problem with not receiving NetCodes? (Or something else?)
I've tried both debit card and credit card and the NetCodes aren't working for either. I've requested at least 10 times and only received a single one, which was long after it had expired.
I tried more than 10 times on different days and did receive verification code every time, but got "Your card has been declined" every time. I online chat with CBA and they confirmed there was no block on my card. CBA card never worked in all previous promos.
I thought the block is on Special end, hence created a new Special account and it worked.
Same for me and it looks like Special cancelled my order for whatever reason. The email says ‘Unfortunately your Special Card for Woolworths order for John has been cancelled. Pending charges for this order will be returned to your chosen payment method.

just did it with debit mastercard, netcodes received. woolworth card received.
Still not receiving NetCodes then thought about trying to use the app, which I've never had to use before for that purpose. Was visible in the app and I could complete the purchase.
NetCodes have never failed previously via SMS, no idea why Special is special in that regard.
