    Wow 62kg, that's a whopper.

  • what should i buy?
85inch samsung or this 100inch hisense.
(i have a samsung soundbar aswell) also i have a hisense 65inch and its still going strong, buts its getting demoted to the bedroom.

    • +3

I was in the same boat and pulled the trigger on Hisense one for the lounge wall. I also have an old Samsung 65-inch tv and sound bar. I will be using soundbar with this one.

Go TCL 85 C845 Mini led , I got mine this time last year awesome tv for the money , I wouldn't get a TV without google/android operating system. https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/tcl-85-inches-c855-qd-miniled…

      • +2

most ppl here I reckon just run a firestick/google/shield with their tv

How does the image quality compare to TCL 98 C655? Both similar price on sale

    • +1

I compared both in store and this is a lot better than TCL C655. However not at good as C755 but then again you would pay $1600 more.

  • Also is this the one to replace my epson EH-TW9000W projector that projects to a 100” screen. It’s on 3hrs a day! Will the electricity savings pay for the cost of the TV in a couple of years?

you are unlikely to save power

Hisense do a pretty good job of avoiding putting power consumption on their spec pages, but you'll find it is close to 500W (max)

      https://qrcode.hisense.com/appliance/00000000002001395500000… (overseas model)

whereas your projector is about 350W (max)

I have the TCL C655 and it uses 167w whilst streaming 4k Prime videos.
      Very consistent power usage.

      • the 55" panel?

their 98" is more like 400W when using HDR

(which is roughly the same as this Hisense when comparing EU data sheets)

        • +4

Nope mine is 98". Pretty sure I watched HDR Prime 4k last night.

I've got a smart power plug monitoring actual usage. Very consistent usage assuming my plug is accurate

Both TVs use Quantum Dot (QLED) technology, but the Hisense Q7NAU uses a Direct LED backlight with Full Array Local Dimming (FALD), while the TCL C655 has a VA panel with no mention of FALD. This could mean the Q7NAU may perform better in contrast and local dimming precision. TCL C655 uses a standard direct LED backlight system with QLED (Quantum Dot) technology.

    Things to Consider:

    • Hisense Q7NAU: Runs on VIDAA, which is less comprehensive compared to Android TV but offers decent app support and built-in voice assistants.
    • TCL C655: Runs on Google TV, providing a more extensive app ecosystem and superior integration with Google services.
    • Hisense Q7NAU: Offers HDMI 2.1 ports supporting 4K at 144Hz, ALLM, VRR, and a Game Mode Pro with low input lag (~6ms at 120Hz). Ideal for high-performance gaming setups.
    • TCL C655: Includes similar HDMI 2.1 features but has slightly higher input lag (~15ms), which is still acceptable for casual gaming but may not match the responsiveness of the Hisense Q7NAU.
    • Both models support HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, ensuring good HDR performance. However, the Hisense Q7NAU may offer better peak brightness for HDR scenes.
    • Both Hisense and TCL have 3 year warranty

Overall, Hisense Q7NAU is likely the superior choice.

      Also, 2 inches larger!

      • +2

        That's what she said!

  • Wow - a 100 inch TV for $2883 !

  • Any insights as to best wall mount bracket?

  • OH I read that to mean it comes with the wall mount. So you have to provide a wall mount for that size and weight? I presume they will have their "recommendations" .

    • +2

Yep $1000 wall mounts with $400 Monster cables

  • As much as it seems like a decent deal, I dont know if i will likely make any purchases with Harvey Norman after the crap the guy has done.

    • what did he do? pardon my ignorance.

      • Ozbargainers never forgave him. He pleaded with the government to apply taxes to all international purchases while previously it was only for purchases about 1k. He also abused the Covid jobkeeper or whatever it was called meanwhile harvey norman had record profits during covid. When asked to pay it back, they just declined.

Before you buy, be aware hisense have terrible longevity and terrible customer service where they believe they are exempt from australian consumer law.

I'm sitting on three dead hisenses now, one died just outside of warranty, one died a year after warranty and one died 6 months from the warranty ending.

They are daring me to take it to consumer affairs and accusing us of abusing the warranty system.

    • Wow, I thought they were meant to have improved .
