nice price, 1440p really is replacing 1080p now and becoming the standard

read the title lol
The original title didn't have the "+", it was "$229Delivered"
oh dam ok.
thats on me sorry
Have used this monitor, terrible contrast (black looks grey) and stand has no height adjustment, only slight tilt.
I purchased this model for $450 from JB it has height adjustment fwiw
LG 27GP850-B 27" 165Hz QHD UltraGear Gaming Monitor
how often do you need height adjustment? Or even tilt?
Mine just stays the way it is. Forever.
Can't complain about the contrast at this price. You're not going to find a better bang for buck monitor at this price. It's not perfect but still very usable.
How does this rate vs [Lenovo Legion R27qe] for $249 ($214.14 after Cashrewards)?
At first glance, specs seem the same. All credit to Kazusa for the deal.
Edit: Cashrewards now reduced to 3.3%, so Cashback will be significantly lower.
I think the Lenovo edges it, similar overall specs but has higher refresh rate, uses less power and has full ergonomics whilst the LG does not.
its $230… nothing around this price that comes close.
Insane pricing. What's important to me: 2K, LG IPS panel, 144Hz, HDR, and not even $250 wtf.
Was good in its day, but LCD tech has moved past this in the last couple of years. Definitely a good deal, definitely better overall than anything at the Samsung G5 VA level that's been posted on here lately, but I would definitely recommend gamers look elsewhere if they're upgrading from existing 100Hz-180Hz panels, as the technology has appreciably moved forward.
Given we're already seeing sub-$700 opportunities for QHD 240Hz and 360Hz monitors, I'd imagine we'll see a bunch of slower OLEDs appear and go on sale at even healthier price points. Can imagine there'll be more Samsung G6 OLED offerings, and perhaps Samsung G5 OLED monitors.
My gaming monitor stopped working after 10 years or so of solid service. Was thinking of upgrading to OLED but worried about burn in as I'd be using it a fair bit for work/general internet browsing etc. All the non OLED deals so far seem to be for more budget options but happy to pay a bit more for quality… have you seen any options like that?
Here's a good way to see some of what's available, but a lot of the very top options are leaning more towards the $900+ range.
What's the best choice here guys?
1) Dell 34" S3422DWG - $385
2) Samsung 32” Odyssey G55C - $269
3) LG 27" UltraGear 27GN800-B - $229
See my post directly above yours. Not the Samsung.
Dell for contrast and blacks, LG for slight motion edge but IPS glow will make darker content jarring.
I'm not a fan of ultrawides, so I'd start with the LG and then it will become a secondary over time, with IPS offering a better viewing angle for that purpose.
What's wrong with the Samsung, is the VA panel for it THAT bad?
I'm personally leaning towards the Dell since I want to buy a cheap ultrawide for productivity + a little gaming.
Thanks for the response!
The Samsung panel is horrific. They put almost their worst panels in the VA G5 and G3 monitors.
Pretty crazy deal given how much these were going for a few years back.
Would this be ok for a second monitor purely for wfh not gaming?
Can't see why not, even if you want to game on it
Anyone know if this one is HDMI 2.1? looking online and cant seem to find an answer. im looking to pick one up for the boy who is playing on xbox series S. want to ensure he can utilise the higher Hz. Ive looked at the Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQ1 which does show only HDMI 2.0. the Lenovo R27qe def has 2.1. so im leaning towards that Lenovo.
I have LG monitors for my PC and have never had any issues with them.Doesn't have or need HDMI 2.1 to get its full capability. Would be fine for Series S, and can downscale Series X @ 4k60Hz.
I'm still seeing a delivery charge unless I'm missing something?
