Only one thing matters here: if the screen is capacitive or resistive. Resistive screens are rare but they are the worst. I remember buying a Laser tablet some time ago, and it was resistive - it felt like it is 2004 again, and you need to use a stick to use PocketPC.

    • The one thing I wouldn't expect to get is a resistive touch screen tablet these days..

Although, just had to get a Classpad for the high schooler. For a device initially released in 2013 they are really milking it asking $300 new. Got a second hand one for $40 but it's a terrible experience going back to a resistive screen which it still has.
Plus it doesn't do anything your most basic smartphone wouldn't handle (in fact Casio sells a subscription based app version of it now too)

    Don't buy a 1280x800p 10" tablet.

    chip from a raspberry pi

    • rpi 3 at most, raspberry pi 4 is way faster.

  • Yikes this is going to be laggy

Would probably be ok for a low cost Home Assistant dashboard

Don't get this generic ewaste. Even this Lenovo Tab M9 for $8 more is better. The Mediatek G80 would be much better than the "Rockchip" processor in this.

    • Is this the same as JB $144 M9

      • Same model# - ZAC30020AU.

        Seems to be.

    • What about the M10 series? It looks like the Lenovo Tab M10 Plus Gen 3 is better than Lenovo Tab M9 according to this spec comparison

The M9 from that ebay link is $127.82 (with discount applied)
The M10 Plus Gen 3 is $149.00 ($21.18 more) from OW

Is the M10 worth it? I need expert advise plz

      • did you decided which one to get?

This or smash hand with hammer?

  • +1

Probably 5 seconds just to bring Settings up.

The lag is what swore me off cheapo tablets, it ruins the whole experience.

And let's not begin on that resolution..
