O.O if this is true then wow , just wow

    • If it's anything like the Sydney store then it's just full of weird Euro-junk with tattered and worn labels. Like $500 shoes reduced to $40 and you still wouldn't be seen dead in them.

are they closing down? otherwise it is crazy price.

    Qld?

  • only in David Jones warehouse stores…
Not valid in proper DJ stores, just asked a DJ manager.

apparently DJ warehouse stores do not provide customer service.

    • +55

sounds just like a regular DJ store

    • At those prices I would be prepared to forgo customer service. :-)

      • Damn tablet fat fingers, wanted to add a positive and did neg instead. Sorry :S

        • +2

That's you off the Xmas list then :-)

        • +2

You can revoke negs, just click votes and if you want to neg your neg just neg your neg and your neg will be negged.

        • +3

          Negception

        • Doesn't work for comments does it? Just the deal (which I hadn't negged).

  • stuff there is a ridiculously cheap as is… with the discount its even better!

  • Well, I know where i'm heading for the day! I've been looking for some quality polo shirts, this deal makes the drive from Brisbane worth it. +1

That place creeps me out. It's like going back in time. The stock is like from the 90s.

      Welcome to Queensland.

    • +1

      Thats David Jones

OP what were stock levels like? I'm not interested as I am in Melbourne, but others may like to know so they can decide whether it's worth the trip or not.

Can anyone confirm the same at the DJ Warehouse at Birkenhead Point?

    • Yep

  • +2

Their stock is all the crap that didn't sell in the ordinary stores. Clothing is always feral but my family tend to buy van husen work shirts and some random thing for the kitchen.
I imagine pillows would be good buy. They do sell matresses but Sealy is excluded so prob no good. 70% off a $1000 matress would be nice if that's how it worked.

  • Large electricals are included, only small not. For instance the Tefal electric pressure cooker they have (marked at $200) is included. I did not buy but person before me did so I asked why. The reply was that the 'Tefal has a large markup so can be included, while the Breville and other brands don't have such a markup'.

Got a nice pair of shoes originally ticketed at $400 for under $30 after discounts (pot luck on size) and some other bits and bobs so cheers!

    • If they can sell things that cheap at the warehouse because there's a large markup in the ordinary stores imagine how much the retailers are ripping people off. $30 items are being inflated to $400 in the ordinary stores that's not a large markup it's a giant markup. Retailers wonder why people aren't buying their severely over priced goods and are blaiming overseas orders for it. Yeah right.

I would guess they are taking a loss on $30 for "$400" shoes, but given the age of most of the stock there, they are probably happy to get something for it and not have to store it anymore.

      • Well we all know that the local markup is high, though not that high, hence the popularity of importing … heck thanks to OzB even my bubble bath came from M&S in the UK!!!

  • Hope this these offers included normal David jones stores very soon. Definite will buy iphone 5 for 70% off imagine that :)

  • Only in QLD? Does David Jones warehouse has its own in NSW by any chance?

    • Birkenhead Point Outlet Centre, Roseby Street, Drummoyne, NSW

  • Not in conjunction with any other offer

Discount applies to last marked price
    Markdown taken at register
Excludes all appliances, cosmetics, sealy bedding, cards & wrap.

    • If all applicances are excluded then how is the Tefal electric pressure cooker included?

      • Well either the women who sold it was wrong, they manually enter in the discount it's not automatic, or she was right and its actually only small (cheaper) appliances that are excluded.

        They had several left.

Also while most of the nicer bed sheets were gone from display, leaving some total dross, if you opened the cupboards below the sheets there were plenty left in hiding.

  • any in wa?

Just been to the one in Drummoyne NSW, I can confirm that they are also doing the sale:

I can also confirm that David Jones Warehouse is where clothes go to die:

    • Hows the sales there? Was there anything worth traveling to? (i.e gadgets, phones etc)

      • It was 70% clothes, 20% homewares/kitchen appliances and 10% other. Nothing I'd call a gadget and nothing phone related.

    • +2

It looks as like a bunch of animals went on a stampede through that warehouse.

    • Thanks! looks too trashed to make the treck, it'd be like treasure hunting..

  • +3

Harbour Town was pure chaos today, carparks were overflowing, cars parked up on footpaths, in gardens etc.

Had to pass on this one.

  • +1

Got a $500 suit reduced to $349 down to $105 at 70% off

  • Thanks OP, got some great bargains on some long overdue shirts. Wasn't as chaotic as I expected either.
