Shirley you'd want silicone
Why do you say that? I personally dislike silicon tipped tongs, they feel worse at gripping food and the metal inevitably wears through the silicone and becomes exposed, severely diminishing the anti-scratch properties. Nylon is much harder and more durable which would improve both the issues I have with silicon tongs

Can I just say, these sort of tongs suck. There is nothing from stopping you from pinching your skin between the metal blades of the tongs. Good tongs fold additional metal inwards providing a small edge. These are semi scissors.
