Looks like a great price for these? Found randomly searching ebay deals heh. I considered buying for myself but can't justify it just for a device (Ps Portal) that costs just as much (at normal pricing). I have plenty of earphones/headphones even if wired!

Yep. I second this. They take a lot of fiddling to feel comfortable and stay in your ears. Even with the different sized buds, good luck finding a perfect fit/feel.
Even with the software tweaks, these have practically no bass and not enough volume. You'll find they sound rubbish for music, movies and pretty much anything else apart from a handful of games. Also, be prepared for some disconnection issues, particularly with the VR2 headset, where one or both buds cut out.
A far better alternative are the Sony INZONE buds. They're clearer, louder, more comfortable, around the same price point, and work superbly with the PS4/PS5 and PC's. The only downside of them is they won't work with Apple devices due to the LC3 technology they use to connect via Bluetooth (Android phones work fine).
But do the inzones work with the Ps portal?
Comfort does seem to be a common complaint… And my ears are pretty picky for comfort for anything longer than 15mins.
Yes and no. The Inzones will work with the portal if the dongle is plugged into the PS5, but you’d have to be within range of it unfortunately.
I think the only ones that work with the portal are the explore buds and pulse elite headsets.
