Cheaper alternative for prescription glasses, these guys are my go to. I recently lost my sunnies to the sea which didn't hurt as bad as they were under $100 vs the ones from Oscar Wylee are like $200+ after adding all the optional DLCs. Downside is Zenni isn't covered for private health insurance claims. I'm also trying out the AliExpress option (Vicky Glasses store) which hopefully should be delivered soon. I'll compare those to Zenni once they come in.

Things to note:

  • Discount applies to regular priced merchandise only and does not apply to taxes, fees or shipping.
  • Not valid on purchase of Gift Cards, Contact Lenses, VR, select Kittles Collection Frames, Non-prescription bundled Sunglasses, Jrue Collection and Designer Branded Frames.

  • What's the cheapest way to get a new prescription? I think I need glasses but I don't know where to start.

Go to any optometrist of your choice, get a check up, ask them to print out a prescription for you (it's your right to have it), go to Zenni, open an account, choose frame that you want, enter your prescription details for lenses, pay, wait, enjoy more than 50% savings (comparing to Specsavers and such)

I’d be interested to hear how you go with the AliExpress option. Can you post a link to the store/sales page please.

Glasses came in today. Quality wise they feel on par with Zenni. Consider them the same, but cheaper if you want to deal with a crappier UI to order them. I would order from them again!

@Emphasise: Thanks, good to hear for you. The AliExpress seller looked a bit basic for my lens requirements. At Zenni I can choose from a range of

            • Multi-focal lens type
            • Lens index (thickness)
            • Coatings

All of which are the very reason I buy online, the local bricks & mortar stores charge $600+ (a few years ago) just for the lenses.

@BigBirdy: Yep I can agree if you just want to make it easier then Zenni is the way to go. You can achieve the same thing via the AliExpress seller, but you need to add each individual item into your cart. E.g. 1 frame, 1 lens type, 1 lens index etc. Just annoying how I can't use my private health on this as every store in Aus always has a gap you end up needing to pay.
