My Dyson is dead. Found this on eBay, not ATL, but is accessable to everyone (with plus). I will see whether I could get the q8max+ tomorrow and probably buy a cheap stick vacuum. Otherwise I might just get this.

My limited research suggests a mid range vac should last about 5 years according to [Choice] (https://www.choice.com.au/shopping/consumer-rights-and-advic…). Dyson is premium so I would assume the ACL period should be longer. I'm considering a Dyson but don't want to fork out for Dyson prices if its only going to last 5 years.
Well, that's just me. I have many friends, their Dyson last longer. It is still a good brand, but I think that's too much for what they offer.
@ce5himm: Yeah way too pricey at RRP. Perhaps you can try your luck playing the the ACL card with Dyson given its only lasted 5 years. Given their premium prices I would expect it to last longer.

I paid nearly 1k for it 6 months ago and have not regretted it at all.
It's been especially good for getting the kids to do the vaccumming and actually empty it afterwards.
Just FYI, I think it's discontinued and been replaced with a more rectangular version. Could be wrong though.

Had mine for 1 and half years. Been solid. Just make sure you clean it properly every few months. Has better suction then other competitors.

I dare say based on the commercial range, it's the best availble.
