Thanks been waiting for this to go on sale again

    • why dont gooloo sell on Amazon anymore ?

  • How long are the batteries in these supposed to last/stay reliable as an emergency backup for?

    • +2

I usually fully charge mine and the last time I check after leaving it in the glove box for 6 months, it still got 3 bars. So probably quite a long while but just charge it up every 3 months just to be sure.

      • +1

Three bars didn’t jump start my ford mondeo. Had to charge fully.

        So I’d say every month.

      • +1

I second this. I've got a quarterly reminder to charge mine. I've got the gt4000s and it only drops 1% between charges.

        • quarterly reminder

i do every 3mths too based on what i researched last time for rechargeables conditioning//calibration

thats what i just maintenance all together with power tool batts health and my old oneblade shaver

      • I’ve had mine for 4 or 5 years and still going well. From memory, I think 3 bars was still ok to start a 6L V8.

      • I charge mine about 1 time per year. Uses a couple percent for each start.

    • +1

Documentation recommends to charge every 6 months.

      • +1

for GP4000 user manual says best every 3 months
wonder why theyr would be much different ..

        • Smaller battery depletes quicker maybe…

    • I've had 2 gooloos and one is still going, has gotten some use. The other one was backup and stayed in relative cool conditions but one of the cells died in around 2.5 years. I guess, if you don't use it you lose it?

  • +4

Just bought a Gooloo Titan GP4000Pro on Aliexpress for $108 and it arrived very fast for aliexpress. Would pick that over these choices

  • -4

Good price, but do we think there will be better cashback offers on Black Friday/Cyber Monday?

    • +5

Let me check my crystal ball

      • And?

        • +1

It's as long as a piece of string.

  • +3

PSA don’t buy rac batteries and you won’t need this

    • +4

those bastards make a fortune on those, came out to a work colleagues car (flat battery) & told her the battery needed replaced, I'd warned her they would, quote was almost double what you could buy the same spec battery for. Needless to say she declined, car still using same battery 2 years later

      • +4

Yeah they’re known for trying to sell you and install a new battery when the exisiting one still has plenty of life. My first battery went for 8 years but they wanted to replace it after 4 years. They also might try and sell you new tyres.
Should concentrate on trying to minimise landfill rather than making a buck on unnecessary replacements.

    • +1

      whats rac batts ?

I think negs are for it being Australian, very interesting indeed! it was usually Commi Chayna!

      • +2

I think the negs are for thinking it's Australian…the company that owns Rooboost has less than 10 employees shovelling "innovation". You crack those open and every part including the most important (battery) is from China…the Australian claim means nothing, I wish it did though.

        • +1

I know, it already says Aus operated, that's what I meant. It cranked at first next door's tradie diesel ute dead battery whose gooloo failed. it loses only 1% after 6 months. It comes also in eva hard case. No one post that brand's deal here, interesting too?

  • +3

Highly recommend. Got one myself (GP4000) and it really is an excellent unit. Have either a dodgy battery/power drain in car for a while now, and haven't been able to get it checked. This Gooloo jumps my car effortlessly every single time. Multiple uses without having to recharge. I did have a cheaper version before, and whilst it was ok, no where near as good as this one. Definitely handy tool to have

    • +1

In the exact same boat with the same model (GP4000). My Kia Sorento has had a strange drain for a few years now, many checks later and multiple batteries and still haven't found the issue.

Using this and it's 'Boost' mode has jump started the car each time. I charge after each use and probably use it every couple of months between uses.

      • +1

Sounds like you could use one of those battery terminal switches, with the big green knob you turn to switch on and off. When you know you're not using it for a while, turn it off. Stops all the known drains like alarms, and the unknown fault drains.
I know you've got a jump starter to solve your problem, but each time the battery goes flat you kill it a bit more.

        • Thanks for the information. I'm pretty car illiterate, so this will be something I will chase and ask the mechanic next time I go in.

  • Any idea if these are worth it/better over the AstroAI ones on amazon?

  • +1

I'm waiting for a good brand to make a hybrid of an air compressor and the jump starter. I love my xiaomi pump but don't like how I have to now keep two things charged and ready.

Here's an example of one https://www.amazon.com.au/Battery-Starter-Compressor-Inflato…

    • is this to say Gooloo is not a good brand?

      • Gooloo is a decent brand, but its basically one step above a no name chinese OEM.
But AFAIK gooloo does not make a combined air pump and jump start kit.

        • They do sell one at the eBay listing in the OP

  • +1

Discount codes are for eBay PLUS members only.

    • Not the BF2420 one apparently anyone can use

  • message to OP….. beautiful falcon?? come on…. they'll think we're a bit funny!
could you change it to magnificent falcon? :)
got a GP4000 …. should be enough to start a couple of tractors, a couple of buses….. then the falcon, but that never needs a jump!

    • So you are implying archenemy Commodore needs a jump! Never ending fight Ford Falcon vs Holden Coomodore.

  • True OzBargainers don’t buy a jumpstarter, they just use their 12V ozito battery, grab some spare cables, and hope for the best. 😄😄

    • We "Prestige" members preferred to ultilise the stockpile of Eneloop batteries to do this.

    • True OzBers might have a deal for road assistant that covers flat battery for free ;)

  • +1

I have had the GP3000 for an number of years now, and gave mine a bit of a hiding this week as the battery in my 2.8L ute was stuffed. It easily managed 3 starts in one day.

  • Having issues trying to apply the code BF2420 (which should for non plus members I think).

I have a GT3000 in my cart, went to check out. I tried to enter the code under the section "Gift cards, vouchers, coupons"
but get the error: "This code can't be applied to your order."

Is the code supposed to be entered elsewhere for the discount?

  • Cheap.

Really recommend the gt3000 got it on last sale

    • Why? The differences mainly are double the peak current and 100w fast charge. I don't think I will use it as a daily power bank and it will be only charged once a while.

  • Does anyone have one of these set up to charge each time they drive the car?

    • +1

I'd guess having it always topped to 100% will significantly shorten its lifespan.

    • Yep, it's called an alternator.

    • how do that?

  • I lost my cigarette lighter adapter, the female one that allows you to plug in other cigarette lighter devices such as a camping air pump. Is there anyway to get a cheap replacement?

  • Title: Battery Lithium Jump Pack

Can it be used with acid and lipo batteries?

  • Good price. Mine went missing in and best deal I could find on GP2000 was $90. Then I saw an Audew (now Anderman) Epower 151 (if memory serves) for $40 delivered.

    • Where dude?

      • on eBay.

  • +2

There are so many versions. How do I know what to get?

  • Can I ask why would you buy anything higher than GT1500? Is it because you need a larger power bank to allow more charges for phone/tablet?

    • I believe that the higher one like the 2000 and 3000 not only have more charge but allows you to jump start bigger cars. If you have a normal car 2 or 4 door sedan or coupe or even some SUV or ute just get the cheapest one. It could be a safety thing as well but not sure. Mine 1500 serves me well enough

      • +2

According to CHAT GPT 600 amp is enough to start a 6 cylinder engine, so I don't understand why people need 2, 3, 4000 amp….

    • Agree, I'm looking for recommendations on a compact jump starter that can fit in motorbike storage. I don't need a huge unit to jump start a 6l diesel!

    • +1

Yep exactly this, since it stays in my car I use it when going camping etc. to charge phones so larger capacity is handy

  • Thanks picked up the GP2000

  • Interested in any experiences with the Gooloo A3 that also incorporates a compressor.
