[eBay plus] Ark XO Series Jockey Wheel ORJW750 $167.97 Delivered @ Sparebox eBay

140
BFRI30

I was looking at this jockey wheel, but in the end decided to buy an ALKO on special from supercheap instead. Reasons not to buy were weight (it's a seriously heavy unit) and price - more than double the ALKO.

However, for some insane reason SCA don't sell U-bolts. Spectacularly dumb policy since they sell things that need u-bolts.

And then this morning I get an email from ebay saying the price on this has dropped down. $240 is a sharp price for this unit, on special it normally seems to be about $319 at most shops. I've got an automatic ebay plus code applied that brings it down to $168, which is spectacular - code BFRI30 .

According to the seller it also comes with the mounting fixtures (u-bolts) which makes it even better. I'm pretty sure I'll take the ALKO back to supercheap and just buy this, it's a superior product in every way except weight.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2024

  • Really good price!

  • Great price. But supercheap definitely sells u-bolts:

    • The manager of my local told he's been begging them for years to stock u bolts and they refuse to let him have them. It is a smaller store which might be the reason, but still seems dumb when there's a dozen jockey wheels on the shelf.

      • They don't sell D-shackles either, even though they're on the website. Bloody weirdos.

  • Great price, bought one. Thanks OP.

  • Do you know what brand is best jockey wheel

I did a heap of research before buying the smaller version of this one a few years ago.
This is definitely one of the better jockey wheels out there (not sure if it's the absolute best, but it would have to be darn close). It's usually a lot more expensive, so at this price, it's a no-brainer compared to cheaper units.

  • This is an excellent jockey wheel.
I have the "350" version (for a 1200kg boat/trailer) and it is just so strong and yet winds and slides so easily.
The magnetic removable handle is a nice touch also - just make sure you put it in the boot of your car after hitching the trailer so you don't lose it on the freeway (the magnet might keep it in place - I just haven't been willing to test it).

However, I accidentally left the jockey wheel in the "down" position one time when driving out of the driveway and the plates that holds the axle deformed just enough to make it not as smooth to move around as it used to. The winding up and down mechanism are still perfect, it's just that the wheels are no longer completely parallel.

Have been thinking of taking it off and trying to bend everything back into shape, but at this price for the 750, I might just replace the lot and assign the old one to a trailer that doesn't weigh as much and doesn't need such smooth wheeling ability.

  • Absolute overkill for my jetski trailer but upvote for the deal!!

Just a note for anyone looking to buy this - I don't think the 750 has holes in the attachment plate that are smaller than 75mm vertically.
So if you are thinking of putting this on a trailer with only 50mm square tubes for the frame (and you probably wouldn't need something this beefy if the trailer only has a 50mm frame - but better to be safe than sorry right?), you may not be able to attach it easily without some other modifications.

You need to go down to the 500 or the 350 which both have plates that have holes for a 50mm frame.
The same ebay seller has a 500 in his shop. It's a bit more expensive than this 750 deal, but it's still much cheaper than RRP.

  • Bought almost exactly the same from Autobarn a few weeks ago, and got bolts from Repco, all up cheaper than this. Maybe the quality is worse, but it's holding the trailer up without issues??

Edit: should've clicked the link …. This is a big boy unit, mine is just holding a 6x4 trailer, nevermind!

There are ~30,000 more of these price errors on their eBay store. If anyone wants to roll the dice, search for items priced at $239.95

Don't forget to combine with coupons and do your own research as some deals are good while others are not

    • I noticed a trailer wobble roller for $239.95 and thought that was a bit pricey. Your find of the pair of batteries though takes the cake!
As you say, I wonder if they will honour/deliver the items that are somewhat underpriced.

  • I ordered something else from the seller and just got a cancellation email.

  • I have this jockey wheel on our caravan. Love it
