      Don't get me wrong, I like my older one, but $100 for a couple of pieces of plastic with a piece of rubber on one is madness

        I kinda feel bad for AB because they don't decide the manufacturer's price, but yeah I agree

        Tritan plastic is great stuff, but it's also used in a $7.50 water bottle from Woolworths, so I do struggle with the value proposition here

          Fully agree. AB are not the culprit here. Seems like Aeropress (Which was never any good to begin with) got popular and jacked prices like mad. There’s no special design or fancy manufacturing nor materials. Plastic tube, actually worth a couple of dollars.

          Maybe my one that’s in the bottom of my cupboard is worth something, I should sell it, with the steel insert I wasted money on!
          For this price, get a Bialetti moka pot.

        Sorry yes…. the price lol. It was the ultimate brewer when it was 20 bucks or whatever in the day. They are kidding themselves at $100

      Does a coffee from a V60 taste the same as one from an Aeropress? I imagined a V60 would be milder and "thinner"?

    I've never understood why these are so highly rated, I love coffee but they just make a mess, take ages and far too much effort… What am I missing?
