  • Is there hero 25K sensor different to the Hero 2 sensor?

    • -4

      I asked copilot:

      Logitech Hero 25K Sensor
      1. Precision and DPI: The Hero 25K sensor is known for its exceptional precision, capable of tracking movements at the sub-micron level. It offers a maximum DPI of 25,6001, making it one of the highest DPI sensors available.
      2. Tracking Speed: It can handle speeds up to 400 inches per second (IPS) without losing accuracy1.
      3. Power Efficiency: This sensor is designed to be highly power-efficient, consuming significantly less power than previous generations, which is particularly beneficial for wireless mice1.
      4. No Smoothing or Filtering: The Hero 25K sensor achieves its high precision without the need for smoothing, filtering, or acceleration, ensuring true 1:1 tracking1.
      Logitech Hero 2 Sensor
      1. Enhanced Precision and DPI: The Hero 2 sensor builds on the Hero architecture, offering even higher precision with sub-micron accuracy. It supports a maximum DPI of 32,0002, surpassing the Hero 25K.
      2. Improved Tracking Speed: It boasts an impressive tracking speed of over 500 IPS2, which is higher than the Hero 25K.
      3. Dynamic Spot Edge Detection: This feature enhances the sensor's ability to maintain tracking performance even when the mouse is lifted or tilted2.
      4. Advanced Customization: The Hero 2 sensor integrates with Logitech's G HUB software, allowing for more precise DPI adjustments, lift-off distance settings, and higher report rates (up to 4KHz)2.
      Comparison Summary
      • DPI and Precision: While both sensors offer sub-micron precision, the Hero 2 sensor has a higher maximum DPI (32,000 vs. 25,600).
      • Tracking Speed: The Hero 2 sensor also has a higher tracking speed (500+ IPS vs. 400 IPS).
      • Power Efficiency: Both sensors are designed to be power-efficient, but the Hero 25K is particularly noted for its efficiency improvements over previous generations.
      • Customization and Features: The Hero 2 sensor provides more advanced customization options through G HUB, including dynamic spot edge detection and higher report rates.

In summary, the Hero 2 sensor represents an evolution of the Hero 25K, offering higher DPI, faster tracking speeds, and more advanced customization features. Both sensors are excellent choices for gamers seeking high precision and performance, but the Hero 2 sensor provides additional enhancements that might appeal to those looking for the latest technology.

      • Please don’t do this. LLMs hallucinate

        • So do people.

  • This is ATL for the black one isn't it?

    • Probably for the PLUS, the 502X LIGHTSPEED without RGB is often $110 on ali.

The RGB adds about 6g and less battery life.

  • Id you use scroll wheel in games I found the wheel pretty lack luster…

  • No deal on a white one? I need it to match my white KB 😆

  • I remember holding out on the white version because I was worried it would look dirty very quickly. Now this is black, I bought one to try. Will use it for my home office, so that I can tax deduct it. Will see how it fares against my old old Performance MX from 2010.

I think you managed to find some secret page. Because there is an identical listing for $169

Same product code and everything lol

    • Yeah I saw that too, ordered one based on the product code. They mashed two product names together, here's hoping I receive the "G502 X PLUS" and not the "G502 LIGHTSPEED"

  • Wonder if the other players will pricematch this?

  • Getting a new PC together and looking at new mice. Is this where I should be looking or other options in the same price range better?

    • +1

it comes down to preference. the quality of mice are pretty high, it mostly comes down to how you like the feel and the weight.

also a lot of it is debated. eg; pro gamers hate this mouse because its too heavy, they are all about getting the lightest mouse possible. Personally I've used a g502 for 8 years and loved it

      • Thanks. So many models within G502. Like why is this plus, does Lightspeed mean anything. Fair enough wireless and rgb make sense.

        • +1

          only get the X version

          lightspeed = wrieless

          Plus = RGB

    • Depends on your needs (productivity, gaming and what sort of gaming, etc). It's very individualised. For example, the fashion is currently ultra light mice being held with a claw grip for fps games. On the other hand, this is for holding with a palm grip.

Personally I'm quite fond of my logitech g604 (I even own two) which is technically designed for mobas with a ridiculous number of buttons, but for me I use it as a productivity / gaming hybrid.

      • I purchased an ultra light recently and I don't understand how anyone uses those. I completely lost my accuracy and my hand was sore from using it.

I've just purchased the G502X Plus from this deal so hopefully that is a good upgrade from my previous Logitech mouse.

        • I fully agree. Claw grips feel awful after a while. Maybe they're a young person thing.

      • I palm grip my ultra light mouse, and you are right that is the current "meta" for gaming mice. If we are talking about work mice then I believe the Mx Master 3S is the current go to.

However I think this one is a good ergo mouse that bridges the gap between those 2.

  • Thanks, matched and bought with JB, think later.
