Kudos to Specsavers - I ordered last night, saw this post 5 mins ago and called them, they answered the phone within 30 seconds and they're issuing a refund for last night's order so I can place a new order with this deal.

I used $30 off $150 so i could make 2 orders each day and not pay any excess ($250 optical limit)

  • good discount! thanks OP.

  • How do i go about ordering sunglasses online? It keeps saying prescription unavailable and go to store.

    • I thought all their sunglasses are prescription ones.

  • I remember these posts previously not doing well as specsavers were over priced even with discounts for contact lenses.

Anyone have other websites for Acuvue dailies?

    • +4

Not affiliated but bought from Anytime Contacts without issue. Previously mentioned by other OzBargain members and have been cheaper compared to other online retailers.

      • +1 for Anytime Contacts

Thanks! Worked out much cheaper than Specsavers even with sales & cashback.

      • Sweet! I've been searching for another alternative. I'll have a look, cheers

    • Here: https://www.contactme.net.au/ - I ordered via them and claimed via Medibank/NIB. They shipped really fast, I ordered today morning and they already shipped out in the afternoon.

I just ordered some on Quicklens. The RRP is much cheaper than Specsavers and it also has a 15% off now. For me a box of Acuvue fortnightly comes down to around $30 which is a bargain.

    • Just want to mention that you can't use your health fund with Quicklens as they are overseas, faq

I ordered without checking, hope they can cancel 🤞

  • Thanks OP!
Annoyed that my 3 month's supply of Daily contacts come to $198, so I have to end up ordering another box!

  • Can I claim from BUPA extras insurance?

    • I just did using the Tyro payment system. Hicaps gave an https error

  • Wow, good deal. Booked a contact lens appointement for today so I can order tonight.

    • Do you have to book it through specs avers?

      • I normally get it done at specsavers, but you can get it done anywhere. Just get them to give you a copy of the prescription.

  • Ordered thank you, normally I use my UNIDAYS code for 10% off

  • Great. This time Acuvue is included.

  • Does anyone know if the cashback will still work if you checkout using your HealthFund? Or will I need to pay and then see if I can claim back from my HealthFund? I'm with Medibank and have never tried to claim back after the fact before…

    • +1

Don't check out with your health fund. It'll track as $0.

      • Thanks. I will try and attempt to claim back from Medibank then.

      • Damn, didn't know this! Have already ordered.

      • My order paid via Tyro Health on the specsavers site did track the following day.

        • Oh interesting. I've paid with defense health in the past and it tracked as $0. Maybe it's changed.

  • Anyone know which is the best dailies?

    • +2

I'm guessing everyone is different based on what they find comfortable along with the fact that contacts have different base curves and diameters etc. so it's not really a question anyone can answer for you I don't think. I have found the expensive Dailies Total 1 to be the most comfortable for me so far annoyingly… I wish they were cheaper! I didn't like Specsavers Easyvision Umere (plus I found it a bit of a pain to get out of the container due to a lip) BUT I can tolerate Specsavers Easyvision Soria if I want a cheaper contact to wear (the container the contact in is a bit odd and I can't wear them as long as I can wear the Dailies Total 1).

A vote for easyvision Linarial which are CooperVision MyDay. It's a Silicone hydrogel type lens which is apparently a good thing.

It's a bit late now for the CR cashback, but if you go to a SS store to get checked you can get some lens as trials so you can see how your eyes like them.

      Dailies Total 1 👍

  • Amazing. Thank you!

  • Anyone's order track on Cashrewards yet? From memory Specsavers is usually very quick…

    • Was wondering this too, mine hasn't.

      • It actually just tracked same as others below.

    • Ordered at around 3:40pm yesterday and hasn't tracked yet.

  • Ordered yesterday arvo and still not shown on Cashrewards yet.. Specsavers shows order is still processing so hope tracking will show once it's shipped?

  • +1

Mine hasn't tracked either. Ordered via CR app last night

EDIT: Just got the tracking at 1017am

  • Mine just tracked. $39.6 tracked on a $180 spend.

    • Yep same, $40 max tracked (order was ~$260)

  • Guys just be aware when using reorder option. Didn't realise code didn't go through 'til later as was in a hurry to order before 12am and when I rang Specsavers they told me codes don't work in reorder option. So I have to wait for order, get refund, reorder before 5 Dec but will miss out on the 22% cashback 😔

  • Anyone tell me if you pick up two pairs of prescription glasses in the $249 range as I get $200 from my extras I pay $49.
I go looking for them online and I noticed one of my pairs is actually $199 not $249 which the store has sticker giving higher price.
These two different designer brand glasses was the only two out of the lot I liked and as both was priced at $249 I paired them up.
I said to girl can I get eye test next day and that these glasses I picked will be the ones I get.
She put it on my file and on a spec saver card the item numbers and and costs.
When I got home I noticed one pair is same as last years glasses but just different colours etc and last years 2 pairs of glasses was 2 for $199 so either they are trying to rip people off or just put wrong sticker on one pair.
Is it even possible for them to match up a pair of glasses at $249 and $199 maybe they can’t do that?
I was thinking as these are the two I really want if they can not charge me the $49 extra as my insurance gives me $200.
But as I have a $249 pair in this set probably they can’t.
I certainly don’t fancy now paying if it’s even possible $49 to get these two when one pair is priced wrong.
I be happy to get both at $199 but I have a feeling this might not work or they simply can’t do it.

What’s your thoughts nothing else appealing to me just these two but this has thrown a spanner in the works with one being priced wrong in store.

    • Just my 2 cents - Ask nicely that you made the decision to get the 2nd pair, purely based on the price tag you saw ($249). Store even confirms they put the wrong sticker on it. Ask for both $199, or to honour the bill.

Bonus proof if the girl wrote $249 on file and/or the card she gave you.

      • I should have pushed it further she said I was right that otter pair was only 199 and not 249.
I said then what’s the go now as one pair is less can they still be matched up.
She said yes but it be the 2 for 249 price as your still getting the otter pair free.
My problem with this was I’m $49 out of pocket I did look to see if i could get another 249 pair or even a 199 pair but nothing else I liked apart from these two pairs.
I’m not sure if she write the price down but she definitely agreed that one pair had wrong price on it and she said it goes by price with highest pair.
My extras paid for $200 of but I did orginally think I was getting two pairs of glasses work 249 each not one at 199.
But yes I could have pushed it more maybe even got them to throw in anti glare lens for less, they did have this at 50% off at time but never bothered with it and have never needed it on previous glasses.

  • Anyone still got a discount from for Specsavers from Medibank?
