Are you saying SCA's normal price isn't $44.99 (~$5 above other big retailers, including one of their Super Retail Group mates BCF), or just that you missed out on a better price when it was discounted previously?

What I am saying is if it is to be a a black friday discount deal. At least move the price to like 29.99? Otherwise for people stalking prices its just a bluff

It's undoubtedly a discount, whether it's a good deal is up to individuals to decide. The ACCC reference was obviously a Chicken Little exaggeration.
What you paid on special last year is interesting as a comparison, but largely irrelevant. Prices for many products have risen for a range of different reasons - Putin's horrific war has had many flow on effects for example - and discounts are generally not as heavy (Colesworth are prime examples).

A bad idea, but start a business and see how you go. The statement above is ridiculously simplistic. Retailers have huge overheads - infrastructure, wages and conditions, energy(!), marketing, maintenance, wastage, theft (!) etc etc - which have to be priced in.

The notion that any big sale will always offer the best price on every item is ridiculous. You still have to shop around, as has been the case for a very long time.
But how is it a deal when the 20-40% off weekends are very frequent? if its once in 12 months site wide is 50% off then that is deal. this is more like a weekly 'oh hey we have 20% off this weekend again"
What's your point? That retailers should offer consumers far fewer incentives to shop throughout the year?
When you come across those 'frequent' 20-40% off (almost)site-wide sales make sure you post them because they aren't anywhere near frequent enough for many of us.
