  • Thanks for the reminder!

  • goddamn I just picked up my order on Friday, from the previous 30% off offer, and now it's 50%

  • So only 40% more than the average now?

    • Mind clarifying this comment? I've never tried specsavers but I was under the impression they were cheap than average?

I looked at Oakley frames with tinted lenses.

Specsavers was $696. Bupa Optical $305. Just Sunnies $298.

If you are after no name reading glasses.

Specs savers have 2 pairs for $200 (or something like that). National pharmacy had off the shelf in my prescription for $49.95… reduced to $5.95..then got $1 off that for being a Bupa member. Glasses have been great.

Bupa didn't want to honour the $4.95 claim.. I didn't really care…and just left Bupa. Their loss for < $5.

      • Gross misrepresentation ime. Specsavers has frames with single vision lenses at various price points $39, $89, 2 for $149 etc. Cost depends on health insurance provider and cover, among other things. Just went through the annual test/upgrade and Specsavers was easily the cheapest I could find for what I wanted. You might find a cheap online provider if you're lucky but chances are PH insurers won't cover purchases from many of them. One thing in SS' favour - the service is outstanding, but they do like to push lens treatments like ultraclear etc so do your research and have a good idea of what you want before you go in.

DAMN, I need to buy the glasses so I can read the fine print conditions to see if I want to proceed.

  • Thanks. Got a cheap pair of glasses and stacked on ultra clear and reaction totalling $151!

Usually ultra clear is $70 and reaction is $100. Massive savings.
