  Anyone tried both and can comment on whether the airpod max is worth its uplift in cost from xm4/xm5s?

  I use iPhone so obviously it will be that touch bit more convenient but not sure how much apple tax goes into these that would make the anc/sound quality worth it if at all

    I dunno… Team XM4 here, once you get them set up with the right EQ setting they’re pretty bloody good. Plus they actually fold up and come with a proper case.

    I have both. Max sounds better than XM5 and works better with my iPhone. But XM5 is much lighter so I tend to use it more for extended use time.

    Sony’s are comfy but honestly it is too bass heavy. Pretty much a slightly toned down. ANC is pretty much the best

    IMO Apple sounds way better than sony’s

    Honestly if ur just using as a travel headphone for anc
    sony as the price is better. ive owned the xm3, xm4 and xm5 (got the xm5 for $300 jbhifi price error)

    Agreed. It is stuck in the past with a H1 chip. It has been more than 4 years.
    Upgrade to USB-C charging is simply superficial.
