Which one do you recommend from Bunnings? Thanks.
Holman 20m $99 2 year warranty is good - search 3110524 on bunnings site. I have 30m varient which was $128 on special. Any brand with 2 or 3 yr warranty should be good.
holman hose reels are junk, bought a few over the years and return springs always give up, leak etc
Been very happy with hoselink (which looks similar to this, no idea if it is) and hozelock
@macmanluke: Thanks both. Yea that's the thing I'm seeing. Poor reviews and experiences for a lot of people. I've tried a couple of cheaper brands from Bunnings and have been disappointed. Need a decent hose but don't want to overpay…of course.
These look to be hoselink housings with Karcher hose and fittings.
The only good think about my hoselink is the hose and fittings. The retractable spool self destructed just outside warranty. Pulled it apart to try and repair it. It's rooted.
I actually don't like the hoselink fittings at all. Some already failed and I replaced them with brass normal ones. The hose kinks but is okay. I just wanted the reel.
This Karcher reel is not very pretty, tbh. I wouldn't attach that to my house. And yeah, this is definitely a rebatched hoselink product.
I've been rather disappointed with the retractable spool on the hoselink. The UK Hozelock I picked up off here a while back far outperforms it.
That surprising the hoselink 25m hiflow has been flawless for me must be 5 years old now and still perfect.
Got a good deal on a hozelock on amazon last year thats been almost as good too.
Hoselink 25 m at $163 was an excellent price
Anyone got a Gardena hose reel?
yeah we do. we paid a premium for a gardena auto reel as it comes with better warranty and was commented online as better quality than Holman etc. Been using one for approx 6 months (once or twice a week), and the hose gets lots of kinks once pulled out and water turned on, so has been disappointing. The spring is very strong on these, so need a fair bit of pulling power to pull it out.
not sure if id buy another one tbh. That's a shame. Do they recommend "seasoning" the hose in the instructions?
Often you need to fill the hose with water and leave it fully unrolled in the sun for a day.
Bunnings has $90-99 20m reels that are same quality or better with 2-3 years warranty. So if youre not crazy about this brand, this isn't a bargain.
