Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 - $199 (Save $50) Delivered @ Telstra (Telstra ID Required)

90

I've been waiting for Black Friday to see if JB discounted the Elite Series 2. Seems Telstra has with $50 off.

Need to be a Telstra customer to access, I used Telstra points to bring it down further.

Hopefully it'll help my aim 😭

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2024

  • What is the advantaged of this Elite controller over the standard controller for 3 times the price?

    • It has 4 back paddles, which are great. Controller feels great in the hands. But unfortunately, they're plagued with issues, unlike the original elite. I returned 5 of these due to a range of issues. It's fairly widespread. From buttons not activating or getting stuck. To triggers not working or registering a double instead of a single. Pretty bad stick drift. I never got one that worked as it should. Eventually just gave up and got something else.

      • What did you end up getting? I've seen there's a new TurtleBeach on pre-order at the moment that looks nice.

I've watched this controller for a while but don't want to jump on it if it's going to be plagued with issues.

        • I bought one for myself and for a mate. Mine is fine and I don’t use it much, my mates is always having issues and the controller doesn’t come with Hall effect triggers or anywhere near enough guarantees for the price they’re asking.

It feels nice and is comfortable with the back buttons that feel great but if you’re having issues in a year and a half or so you’ll be pissed

I would recommend pdp victrix pro, i ts around 200-220Aud. l have 1 for about a year, verry happy with it. look up some reviews on YT though

  • how much better are these to a normal xbox series X controller? do you even notice the difference?

    • +2

so much better, these have back paddles, shortened triggers & removeable thumb sticks etc. for FPS games i feel these are well worth it.

    • It's difficult to go back to a normal controller after you really take advantage of these ones.

At the surface level, the controller is rechargeable, comes with a heap of stick types (long, short, grippy etc) and has a great charge and carry case.

Beyond that, Steaminput supports the extra paddles - which is brilliant if you're into that sort of tinkering.

Issues popped up after 2 years in my particular case, so your mileage may vary

    • Best part is the heft

  • whats the difference between the core model and this one?

    • +1

I think this one doesn't come with the accessories? Like the back paddles? Hard to tell.

    • Yep according to the JB website it doesn't come with the extra accessories or the carry case with charging dock

  • has anyone tried a price match with jb hifi? I think they would match this.

    • JB refused to match Telstra deals for myself, at least for mobile phone deals. YMMV.

      • maybe harvey norman?

Don't buy it. You will regret it.
It will not last, I have had 3. First got stick drift and rubber peeling on sides within warranty. 2nd had right bumper failure and stick drift 1 month past warranty, 3rd had weird motherboard failure just out of warranty.

Just Get a Fly digi Vader 4 pro. Cheaper and MUCH better thumbsticks by a mile.

    • Do you think the Aliexpress version would be legit? Good price at the moment. $160ish on eBay otherwise.

      • Yes the aliexpress version is legit, but i thought that do not work with xbox?

        • +1

Don't know if it's plug and play on xbox. It shows up on PC as a Xbox controller. If not, I believe there are work-arounds to get it working on consoles for sure. Collective minds Cronus device comes to mind

          • @Captain Cheapskate: I think i'd rather something that's plug and play on Xbox. I've struggled hard with some headsets that are just overcomplicated to connect haha

      • Yeah some sellers are legit. Just check reviews first. That's were I got mine.

      • If you decide on the Vader 4, they also sell alternative thumbsticks set if you like to try out different heights. I also highly recommend getting Talon Games controller grip tapes.

      That's a bummer, mate.

I guess I have to thank the thieves who stole my Elite controller - they saved me from going through a similar experience 🤣

Thanks for the alternative recommendation, i'll look in to it.

That's low. You can Steal phone, steal my car, hell steal my girlfriend, but steal a man's controller?? That's just wrong.
Well the jokes on them. Here's hoping they get stick drift throwing their aim off and always rage quitting coz they are losing every match.
